Last October we decided to replace our original house A/C and furnace. Man am I glad we made that call. A couple of folks at work had their furnace take a crap. They are getting threw this vortex with space heaters. One guy posted that he has ice in his toilet.

I think I might have discovered the bottom end of the range on my outside temperature indicator on my 2009 GMC Sierra. It read -29 on the way to work this morning in Minnesota. I think it was more like -35. The forecast was actually predicting -35, and a coworker who drives the same route I do into work said he had -35 on his vehicle indicator. Tried to google the indicating range on my 2009 Sierra but couldn't find it. Anyway when the temps get that cold I can't even tell the difference anymore. All I know was that, it was COLD!!

Only causality around here so far was the washing machine. No register in the laundry room which is in an addition.
Pump and discharge hose both froze, thawed out now with no damage

So as I was reflecting on how downright balmy it feels at 7F, I reflect once again on the eternal truth that you don't run water pipes in exterior walls. None. Never.

If you're on an unheated crawl....I'll say a prayer for you as it gets warmer.

The problem is going to be the extreme jump in temps. Lots of snow and ice to melt. If you have a sump pump you better check on it.

You know it's been really cold the past few days when you go outside in the morning, think to yourself that it feels very pleasant out today, then look at the thermometer and realize it's still only -1.

We had reached a balmy +2 when I got up this morning.

Because I'm a good dad, I walked out and started the daughter's truck for her at 5AM.

    Because I'm not a pu$$y, I did it my slippers and bathrobe.

For the record, when the wind blew up inside my robe, I immediately regretted that decision.:n00b:
