There is a vacuum in the cosmos . . . who is left to gouge someone's eyes out and skull**** them to death? I ask you, who?

If that is true, you are dumb enough to be a Marine.

The Marine D.I.'s has pain down to a SCIENCE without leaving a mark. Stomach, throat, groin, pinch on shoulders all hurt like hell but never left a mark. LEGALLY they were not to be physically cruel but they sure got around it.

It was a REAL bi**h but paid off once we got to Nam. Some Recruits despised them. I understood they were helping to keep us alive.

Remember in Full Metal Jacket the fat guy that ended up killing R.Lee? We had a Black guy from Cleveland named Tea***. He was thin but could NOT help but smiling 24/7. They beat the hell out of him but he could NOT stop smiling.

    Great life experience.

Damn, I met him in San Diego when he crashed the Marine Corps ball and was a second quest of honor with Brad Kasal. Gunny was a fun man to drink and shoot the **** with.

I had the pleasure of meeting him on two occasions and we talked our time in Vietnam. He was a wonderful, kind fellow. I will miss him.
