I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my son not only refused to participate in the walkout, he also got into an argument with the girl that was the leader of it at his school. Not only that, he looked up the statistics on gun deaths compared to things like car accidents, etc. and texted the info to his friends. Trust me on this, that info went out to thousands of high school kids, he is very popular.

Miguel: "What was the attitude of students during yesterday's events?"

Miguel Jr: "Everyone thought it was stupid..."

    Miguel: "Ah, OK."

I’m all for it if this was supposed to be an honorary type thing for the students who were killed but the idea of children protesting a right they have not had the opportunity to understand the importance of runs me the wrong way

If the kids were to walk out 1 minute for every child killed by abortion....they'd never be in school. I'd think that if they knew this, there might be more pro-life kids.

My daughter asked me 'what a walk out is' today. I asked her why?(she's in 7th grade). She said an article popped up somewhere she was reading that said a student was suspended for not walking out...in Ohio I think.. The reason was 'students need to be supervised at all times'.

This is from her reading it to me...anyone seen the article elsewhere?

    Chip posted it elsewhere...

And common sense cell phone control. After all the First Amendment was written there were no cellphones, only printing presses. No one needs an assault phone that can spread ignorance and hate quicker than the Founding Fathers could imagine. All they need is a flip phone to make calls and send text messages.

We've come a long way since the Froebel School Strike. Symbolism? Substance? Peer Pressure? :dunno:
