How many construction worker deaths are the direct result of the speed of the vehicle, and how many are construction workers ignoring their own safety in the travel portion of these zones? Any stats on what the main contributing factor is?
I would bet once they start giving out a thousand to twenty five hundred dollar speeding tickets in construction zones, folks will slow down. ASAPRegardless... I'd say an officer (or several) in cars would do better than a camera that doesn't get noticed till the bill comes.
The statistics show most (~80%+) deaths are the occupants of the car. Of the workers that die, about 45% are on foot while 29% of workers die while driving or riding in a vehicle. This law will probably be used as nuisance abatement by LE. Yeah, you probably won't get charged. But the law is the law, they've got probable cause, and you are taking a ride.Prosecutor declines to charge woman under Indiana’s new 25-ft. police encroachment law

That was my first thought too!"Too tight" and being able to remove her hand is a contradiction.
Here's the actual law. There must be a warning by law enforcement.Watched this earlier today. Be interesting how it plays out. The ambulance is part of the investigation? I guess one must carry a tape measure. What happens if you 26’ away and the officer makes a sudden move by 2’ and you can’t react in time and they got you at 24’ ? Lol
