sorry been out of town. Yes I would be interested in attending depending on time and location.

    Thanks for the reply deanald2pt0.

It would be really nice if we could get a cartridge swap scheduled. Ordering cartridges online is so darn expensive. Cartridge trading appears to be the way to go. Seems like Indy would be the logical place as it's the center of the state. Anyone have any suggestions for a time and location? Obviously holiday weekends are out as everyone is either traveling or has plans.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

I got some interesting cartridges this week from collectable ammunition in Michigan. Shipping was kind of painful but I like the cartridges they sent.

Here is 8mm Nambu they list this as a bird head stamp.

Here's a picture of a couple uncommon rimfires, the 6mm Flobert. They are next to a .22 short and a .22LR for comparison.

One uses a #4 shotgun pellet as the projectile, and the next has a conical lead bullet. They use only the primer as propellant, like a CB Cap and the Aguila .22 Colibri.

CB uses powder. Not much, but it's in there.
Miss buying bricks of Remington CB for $15 at Lengels (oldest kid started shooting with that stuff, a little over 20 yrs ago).

Just got a nice lot of M1919 gallery ammunition for a great price. Similar to what Wolfhound posted in post #113. All RA H 18 cases. Remington Arms, Hoboken New Jersey plant, 1918. This is the most common headstamp for these cartridges, but any headstamp may be encountered.

These used recycled, second quality, and overrun cases for their production which explains the 1918 date on a round not formalized until 1919. Used for short range practice in areas where a full range was not possible or practical and issued to guards in urban environments where over penetration was a concern. Preceded by a number of other short range and gallery cartridges.

I got some more cartridges and thought I would post some of them. This one is a 20mm M51 dummy round. It is next to a 50BMG for scale. This one has some sentimental value to me as I use to work on the 20mm Vulcan guns in the second half of my military career (after the infantry). I focused mainly on radar but we would occasionally use these dummy rounds to test and troubleshoot how the guns fed. They would move from the magazine to the gun through metal guides incredibly fast depending on what rate of fire was selected at the gun controls of course. The (real) rounds were electrically fired. We had access to barrels full of these rounds but I was an honest troop and didn't ever keep one. It's nice to have one now as a reminder of that time in my life.

This is a 11.15x57R Spanish Reformado stamped S A 3 78. I believe it is 1878 which would make it my oldest stamped cartridge. It is next to a 7.62x39mm for scale.

I finally got a Martini-Henry cartridge. Its 577/450 Eley made in England. Lots of history with that round. I am sure thousands of Zulus fell to the 577/450. Not sure I would want to face them in a red wool jacket carrying a single shot rifle.
