It was nice meeting you Saturday. Thanks for the 50 BMG and 300 Win Magnum. I thought the gun show was good. There was some oddball ammo to be found. Me and TheBoss930 split the only 2 boxes of 7.65x45 to be found. I also picked up some 6.5x54MS ammo. Similar to the 6.5 Dutch but slightly longer case and no rim. Also found a vendor selling 8mm Mauser ammo for 3 dollars per stripper clip. Couldn't say no. I think it was Turkish 1939.
it was nice meeting you as well! Thanks so much for the rounds we traded, they are very cool! I did want to pick up a .50 SLAP and a .308 SLAP the guy had, but can't have it all :)

Here are some of the rimfires I got from Fullmag. (Thank you Fullmag.)

I am not an expert on rimfires but I think left to right is 25 rimfire, 30 rimfire and 32 rimfire. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

I picked this up at the Richmond gun show. 6.5×54mm Mannlicher–Schönauer

I put a 6.5 Dutch in the photo to show how similar it is. 6.5 Dutch has a rim and is on the left. The others are all 6.5x54MS

    Walleyepw,

That's a lot of calibers you shoot. Could I talk you into posting a picture of a 256 Newton and 450 Marlin?

Also, I think Slow Hand is looking for some 303 blasting ammo if you have some to sell.

The .256 Newton is a commercial Mauser action, A&M Barrel, Jaeger trigger. The .450 Marlin is a Guide gun with the ported barrel. I would post a photo, but most of the times that I try to post a photo it does not work. I have been interested in firearms for many years and just like to have them to shoot. I have seen some very nice ammo collections and some photos of some great displays.

Sounds like a couple of really nice rifles.

I have been having trouble coming up with a way to display my collection. Some are lined up on my China cabinet and some are in ammo cans. Lol

Here's a picture of a couple uncommon rimfires, the 6mm Flobert. They are next to a .22 short and a .22LR for comparison.

One uses a #4 shotgun pellet as the projectile, and the next has a conical lead bullet. They use only the primer as propellant, like a CB Cap and the Aguila .22 Colibri.

Wow, very cool! Thanks for posting the picture.

Do you know why they are called Flobert?

    Copied from Wikipedia:

"In 1845, French inventor, Louis Nicolas Flobert, modified a percussion cap to hold a small lead bullet. Flobert modified the cap further by creating a rim at the edge so that the cap and bullet could fit in a chamber of a pistol. The round contained no powder and was designed to be a toy. In 1845 Flobert made what he called "parlor guns" for this cartridge; as these rifles and pistols were designed to be shot in indoor shooting parlors in large homes."

Thanks for the information on the Flobert. 1845, those go way back.

I think I got a few of those from Fullmag. Only one has a projectile. The rest just have a crimped end and an acorn head stamp.
