    Question for the mods:

I had a thought about the spam today. I don't know if it's possible or would actually help, but it might.

I know that members with less than 50 posts can't post to the classifieds, so there is obviously a setting to limit that. Is there a similar setting for posts that contain links? The people that spam us never post anything more than once, and it's always a copy/paste type of thing. Don't they usually get paid based on the clicks they generate from a site? Since they track those clicks, let's take the click away from them.

If there was a setting that would not let an active link be posted until the 2nd or 3rd post then they would not be able to get credit for the clicks they could generate. Without getting credit or paid then maybe we would become a less desirable target.

I'm not sure if the forum software would allow this or not. I've seen similar things on other forums in the past dealing with pictures, but don't know about links. Just a thought.

I'm not sure this is possible, as it may affect pic hosting links, etc.
I'm no IT guy though. There have been discussions happening... we aren't unaware of the matter. It just takes time.

I'd like to think that INGO'ers are savvy enough to not click spam links. especially since they get reported so quickly.
