    The stool is amazing LM

It will be an exciting day when he looks up at Daddy and says "Levi, that's my name Daddy"

Thank you for sharing your son with us.

    That's really nice!

He will probably use it his entire life.
That's the best thing you made ... so far.

Wait till he's a bit older and you need to make him a little chair and desk.

Just went through the thread the rest of the way...
Someone here is clearly jealous that other people in this world have a reason to be joyful, so out comes a pathetic attempt to make himself happy by posting a text version of a sneer instead.

Speaking of sharing joy, Levi turned 6 months on Friday. So, since my brother bought his first boat, we went out on Racoon Lake.

Levi's first boat ride, on his 6 month birthday :)

The stool is absolutely fantastic. The love that so obviously went into its construction, even better. God Bless you and your family.

It never ceases to amaze me how people have to try to rain on someone else's parade.

I can not honestly say I am not guilty of this. We are all human after all. Flawed at best. But we have to keep trying.

The smile on a childs face is just the best. It is the Gold in my golden years.
The rest of this stuff is just extra.

That stool is awesome! Are you already looking for a next project? I don't do anything that fancy, but after I get over the excitement and pride of finishing a project I'm immediately searching the next!

I'll keep my eyes open for your next project!

And seriously jealous of how much hair he has already!! Our youngest is 9m and only hopes for hair like little man by age 10!

That is a great looking stool and one happy looking boy. I like how you made it so he will still be able to use it as he grows. Fantastic work.

    A quick observation and question.

If you took the time to fit the rungs into the splayed legs, why cut stenciled letters into a rectangle board and stick it on the side?

You should have spent the time to mortise and tenon the name board into the legs with the matching angle. Much stronger, and a more professional appearance.
What type of glue was used? It could potentially be disassembled and rebuilt with this method.

Just trying to be helpful. You are close enough, I could do an engraved name, if you supply the wood.
I could even fit it for you, but I'm sure you want it to be an heirloom piece made by dad.
id hate to be your kid and hand you my homemade Father's Day card. It would never be good enough (two thumbs down for you dude)

This was a really nice thread. Good job Marc! Good looking boy!

Why do we have to put up with this horse:poop:?

Constructive criticism. Some people can't handle it...
Ahh, here we go. Jump on the wagon... while you can.

I don't feel the need to stroke an ego just to belong. There are many others that handle that task.
My opinion is my opinion, just like the jack ass opinions being presented here. No one persons opinion is any better, it's still an opinion.

Anyone can see that this is totally inappropriate. This poster doesn't seem to play well with others? :dunno:
