From a total sci-fi nerd: This is dumb. We don't even have our own way into orbit. The USAF and NRO do everything we need military wise in space. Unless T knows something we don't know...like NK is building a space force.

This is why I think the USSF is a necessity.

Military operations force the advancement of technology under the guise of national security. The only way we're getting back a competent space program is if there's a politically expedient excuse to spend that much money on rockets.

NASA has a fundamental problem; politics.

If politicians can be convinced a rocket mission is a national security affair, then the space program will continue without being defunded.

Uniforms: military is required to wear uniforms. Whatever is the most functional for space, whatever has the highest cool-factor for Earth. No I'm not kidding. I spent most of my 21+ in BDUs (woodland camo) designed and sized for mass-issuance while fighting the Soviet hoards in Europe with chemical weapons and mass-decontamination being the norm. Medium-blue flight suits with lots of Velcro for the full-color patches baby! Or better yet, bring back green fatigues!!
