    A guy I worked with...jumped off the back of a stake bed truck. His ring caught on the bed rails, and ripped the finer completely off! Now he walks around with a permanent shocker! He is used to it now...some of his girlfriends like it...others not so much

    When I went to Lincoln Tech., in 1974, my Electric teacher told me of a mechanic, whose ring shorted out on an alternator. Melted to the bone..... Don't know if that can really happen, but I remove jewelry, and the negative wire, while working around anything electric .....

    Yes it can and does happen. I've seen both the melted ring/bracelet and the degloving of fingers while working as an EMT.

    I work with tools a lot, when I was married I would wear my ring on a necklace except for dress occasions.

    All I can say is "Thank-You!!" My wife has been on my butt for 25 yrs about why I don't wear my wedding ring at work. Just showed her the pics, sometimes words just don't paint a vivid enough picture. Thank you agian!
