Dry fire 15 minutes per day.

    Cardio every day.

Pistol training with Matt McLearn quarterly. His drills weekly.

    Non-gun training w/ Jack McVicker.

If luck and time allows, some USPSA or IDPA competitions.

Dry fire and calling shots for me.

Years ago, fairly soon after getting into USPSA, a few of us got together for dinner in the dead of winter to break up the "down season."

I still laugh when I think about GH2 declaring, "this is where we come to lie about dry firing all winter, right?"

Finalize my 3 day Scout Rifle course curriculum with land nav and survival field craft incorporated into it.

    Kill more grouse and quail

    Shoot 100 straight in Skeet

Maybe 2018 is the year I finally upgrade from my 1990 Gen 2 G19...or maybe not.

When we talk about dry practice, for those who don't know, the "fire" part of dry practice is just a tiny part of what you can do to dramatically improve your skills. A lot of people think dry fire practice is primarily or even exclusively about pressing through the trigger press on an unloaded gun. Nothing wrong with that, but it only scratches the surface of dry practice.

Got started on the dry fire routine for 2018 today. I hope to get in three good days in a row to kick wrap up 2017 and start 2018 right.

Follow it up with range time. What type of training?

That's the plan. I am just tired of sending ammo down-range, and not getting any better. I'm planning on doing 1-on-1 handgun lessons with Safe Shotz Home Page My main goal is to become more accurate and consistent, and figure out what it takes to stay that way! I'm clearly missing something (pun intended), and reading and practice don't seem to be helping.
