And how long does property sit in the "property room" and after that time passes then what happens to it?
Throw away guns? I saw this movie one time, and we know movies have to be true. State law.
If drop guns were as widely used as alleged, I'd have a higher body count.
Hang around and read more. There's quite a bit of it. But, it's the internet, what do you do? There's also bad grammar and spelling which really bugs me.One thing I got out of this post was there was a lot of smart ass replys. Thats the first time I have felt this way about any post I have read on here.
my thoughts exactly40 posts to go

First turn it in. The butt you save may be your own.
Second , reading this thread why are LEO's dodging the answer to the big question? If I find a gun, turn it in, it's clean and no one claims it, as the finder , do I get to keep it?
Just a simple answer, do I get to keep it?
a couple years ago me and a friend were on craigslist classified looking for oddjobs to make a bit of extra cash. one of the jobs we did was to clean out a garage of a retired police officer. he said we could keep anything we wanted, everything else was trash. of the things we found and kept, an old throwaway, and home-made club made from a metal pipe, with a lead ball at the end wrapped in electrical tape.
not saying its common, but i can say firsthand i know the rotten ones are out there.
Yep, to the police I say.....but I see the concern. Regardless of why it was stashed, dropped, forgotten, etc... its pretty damn ignorant. A loaded gun is unlike any other piece of property. People drop, misplace, lose all kinds of things.....but a loaded gun?????? You have to be kidding me!!!!!!!!
I dont know what kind of "public place" this was found in, but this could VERY easily have turned out different with a kid finding it and pulling the trigger. Pretty sad.
You need to check with police because what if it's a stolen or firearm used in a crime? Call in and have the weapons serial number checked out.
You don't know that the owner doesn't deserve his property back. The one thing you do know, it's not yours.
Common sense would dictate you turn it over to the police.
I would have never posted this in a public forum. I will not think for you or tell you how to act.
But you know what the right thing to do is. Right???
