With the printing of more $, it may be only a matter of time before people here (or investors in other countries) realize what they are holding is just fancy toilet paper (or kindling). Then the dominoes will begin falling. No one in gov is even paying lip service to budgeting or debt reduction. It appears the strategy is to just keep printing until it all grinds to a halt.

This may end up being the real long-term damage caused by the Chinese virus. I sure hope not. I still want my fancy paper to be worth something.

Welcome to 1933 and the New Deal.

The Republic has always been an experiment, an exercise in evolution. We are not losing it. It is changing. As it always has. As every democracy has.

When someone asks you to defend the right to an abortion, what do they hear from you?

What does abortion have to do with this. I will discuss it with them. I will not remain silent.

But this will not go in that direction. Abortion and Ingo "Always" ends badly.

I too used to believe that the young men once challenged would rise to that challenge just like their forefathers but haven't had that confidence in over 10 years. To be clear to the outstanding young men that participate here and your friends that are like you I know you are out there, it's just not in the quantity of the past.

Agreed. My brush was to wide.

    So does this entire discussion.

In your post, you suggest that you hear crickets when you ask people to support a right that is important to you. Yet, what do they hear if they ask you to support a right important to them?

Would you stand guard at a mosque or an abortion clinic? You brought up the notion of *crickets*.

Abortion is not a right. Show me where it is specifically listed please. or leave it alone please.

And I already stated I will discuss it with any one. Just refrain from doing it on a forum I have had to ban members for loosing their ****ing minds over the topic. I cringe every time it comes up.

Would I give my life for this cause...……..no. but I will for the well defined rights listed in the founding documents.
I stated in defense of the 1A.

Now, this ends. We can make analogy's in so many other ways. You know my reasoning here. And I see your point.

Under the constitution, SCOTUS gets to decide. SCOTUS says abortion is a right. Much like a moderator on a private forum, SCOTUS gets the last word.

I disagree. That is my right. Scotus has screwed us over so many times. They stopped reading the original documents long ago my friend.

And in stating I would not die for this it is a response now WTF are you digging for.

And in my process as staff I do my absolute best to deal with things inside the rules. Other my or my not have. Not me. If I have to make one of those decisions it is not knee jerk.

    So...….WTAF are you digging for.

This is a forum, not an exercise in trench warfare. I'm not digging any more than any other poster in this thread is.

This is a diverse country. What is important to you isn't necessarily as important to someone else. That you hear crickets when talking about what is important to you is EXACTLY the same as those who hear crickets from you about what is important to them.

This thread was never about the 1A.

Which leads me to, WTAF is this thread about? Every generation complains about the upcoming generation. Us GenXers certainly got our share of it (and some pretty good movies out of it).

Just because someone values other rights over rights we value doesn't make them mush heads or stuck in their phones. It just makes them different.

Generally speaking Millenials are way more engaged than Gen X ever was or is.

Now Gen Y, I don't know about those kids... SMH

There are nearly infinite things the constitution is silent on, including many that are important to INGO. Doesn't change the SCOTUS role to decide.

We can't really have "Every Man a Supreme Court unto Himself."

Anyone who claims to support the constitution should support the SCOTUS.

    TL;DR

The Stay at home order in Indiana, in my opinion, is legal at present, but not necessarily for all time.

Is this where this goofy conversation started?

    WHAT?
    You want continuity?
You're asking an awful lot there!

    Or at least consistency. ;)

Granted, even in SCOTUS, consistency is flexible over the long haul. Slavery, interstate commerce, federal funding of state functions... all this and more has evolved, along with our society.

At the end of the day, though, SCOTUS decides what right we enjoy and where those rights end. Not each individual.

(Of course, big enough groups of individuals can amend the constitution.)

The Constitution is silent on abortion. Therefore regulating it falls to the states.

The SCOTUS is wrong. It's not the first time.

    Bingo.

And as stated it was in response to the progressive socialist that pick and choose what they stand for as to what benefits them directly and puts us in a corner. It is what we are loosing in America. Did you not see that or do you want to keep moving the goal posts.

And please do not make any attempt to tell me what this forum, is about. Please.

I have been on this rock for a long time as I am all to often reminded. I have lived these changes and no I do not like them.
And I try and support SCOTUS when they actually follow the rule of law held there in the original documents. They lost me with ACA. That was so left field and outside the realm of reality. Back door politics in play for all to see. How can we support that group.
