    "to protect our civil liberties".

You know, their civil liberties. Anyone that disagrees with them, not so much.

For the record, I am against those that attack someone because of their race. But if they hold Trump responsible for that, then shouldn't the attacks against others in the name of the current President be highlighted also, and hold the current President responsible?
Or, could it be that there are nutbags on both sides.
And those that attack, should be arrested and shamed... on both sides.

That moved me to tears...after I splashed my rye whisky out of the glass and onto the cat's head who in a startled moment extended the rear claws into my skin and bolted for the floor.

The above never happened and was intended solely for your entertainment.

The reason they sound the same, cause one place writes the news, and the rest just regurgitate it.
You actually can see it on many topics, now that you have the internet to show them all speaking, sometimes the exact same sentences or paragraphs.

And, do you think they'll learn?

I have a simple solution for dealing with the Affordable Care Act.

On Friday, 20 Jan 17, both houses of Congress meet and repeal the ACA effective Tuesday, 1 Jan 19.

Then, the President signs it. BOOM!

I give until 1 Jan 19 as companies will need time to apply actuarial adjustments to their numbers.

IF something very similar to this does not happen THEN I cannot see this damned law EVER being fully repealed.

By the way, the delay until 1 Jan 19 also gives republicans time to work on another health care overhaul if they so desire it.

If you really want 1 Jan 18 I am not opposed to it but I believe that to be a somewhat unrealistic number for everyone. I can live with it but believe it to be too soon.

    Regards,

    Doug

There was a discussion, I think it was in this thread, about if a President ever stuck around in D.C.

Obama?s Strange Last Days in Office
Obama isn’t leaving Washington, and that may be part of the problem. He’ll be the first president to remain in D.C. since Woodrow Wilson, infirm after a stroke, decamped the White House to a brownstone on S Street, where he continued drawing throngs of admirers after his presidency. Obama is setting up house a few blocks away, too, in the tony Kalorama neighborhood—also a few blocks from where Ivanka Trump is reportedly buying a home. Obama will be renting while his daughter finishes high school, which is to be applauded. But it also denies him and the country the catharsis of seeing the president leave town—a symbol that’s become as much a part of the transition as any.

I haven't really looked, but I haven't seen threats of violence indicated at this inauguration. You have a source?

Is this close enough for you???

Chicago Police: 4 in custody after man tied up, tortured on Facebook Live | WFLD

Oh wait isn't it Trump voters that are the violent psychopaths?????....

Is it much of a stretch to say that "people" doing **** like that with that mindset would have a problem causing chaos and threat at the inauguration?
