Ha!It`s amazing if the ship, just like it`s namesake, isn`t completely useless, and incapable of anything except making left turns...
Wait. It`s amazing if the ship, just like it`s namesake, isn`t completely useless, and incapable of anything except making left turns...
Wait.
Do you know who the real namesake of the ship is?

Yeah, but I had a similar joke lined up but didn't want to risk confusing people.Even if he did miss the fact that it is named after McCain Sr., not the senator, I still like the joke.

McCain Jr. (current Senator McCain is III) served honorably. And McCain Sr, for that matter.
Lately, yes.I guess reading the whole thread is hard.

Birds and Act, I am pleased to have your perspective. I was Army and am glad that I was not Navy (as I planned when I was a teen).
It is hilarious to read some of the posts on here. My favorite was the one about how tough college was.
I wouldn't trade my time in the Navy for anything.
Thank you for your service.
I too feel that military service is a great help in helping young men learn to cope with the intricacies of adulthood. I know it did me.
I have learned a lot in this thread, thanks to you and Act.
It is hard to hate rust pickin', deck swabbin', stinkin', cracker Jack, squids when you get to know them.
I couldn't have been a ground pounder.
Neither could I, I've had bad knees since I was 17, I was only Infanty for a few months. Then I was reclassified to Supply (company armorer) and eventually to MI (laugh). I spent my entire service with the Infantry.
I wouldn't trade my time... but there's no way I could do it again.
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.
That is Dickensian. I have said much the same many times.
chippin and paintin is a big part of the Navy. Metal and Seawater.
I just saw a little blurb of news a while ago on the television when I stopped for a sandwich indicating that the admiral in command of the Seventh Fleet is being relieved of his command over the collisions plural in recent memory.
