For people with epilepsy its been particularly effective treatment and for individuals with severe joint pain. I can not personally attest to the effectiveness of cbd oil but the research is out there and from speaking to some individuals who use it they say it works with much less negative side effects.

This focuses more on Epilepsy , it touches on "general pain management" uses as well. I am looking forward to Canada and states where Marijuana is legal to start even more Medical / Scientific research into potential applications for the drug. It's nice having a STEM degree occasionally so I can actually understand allot of this stuff.

Thanks, I'm really curious to see the hard data that comes out the next few years myself. I have a brother that has CMT ( Charcot Marie Tooth Disease ) I know that he partakes with different oils and edibles to curb some of his issues. Hes been a weed user since we were kids, But he tells me his use now is to be more of a functional person. LOLOLOL.. I hope so but i'm not sure.

The research is still in its infancy, however with regard to epilepsy CBD oil has shown significant success. Particularly in comparison to other epilepsy medications with very serious side effects however it depends ultimately on the individual.

As to other health benefits the research is still in its infancy but with people with fibromayalgia or other pain disorders it presents a potential opportunity for non-opioid based treatment.

here is another more recent study

Howdy all. I thought I’d bring this thread back up for more discussion. INGO is always a place I check when I’m in research mode, and I’m currently looking into CBD oil.

Does anyone one have any more experiences or insight to add from the last five months?

The lady I was going to buy it for passed away in late October so we never tried it. I know some who use it for various things and swear by it, but I haven't tried it yet.

CBD oil is not the same as using MJ. The product sold at our local health food store that I was considering, has .03% THC. I'm not sure what the difference is between marijuana and "industrial hemp" but Indiana allows a THC of up to 0.3% in the CBD oil.

It does make you wonder though if using CBD oil would open the door to problems relating to buying/carrying firearms, etc.

I believe as long as it contains no THC, it's ok. If you live in a state that has medical marijuana, it's a federal law that you can not have a gun license, I think it's also a question on FFL transfer forms.

For clarification, I know the diff between CBD oil and mj. I'm more concerned with how the gov sees it.

Tomorrow will mark two weeks that I've been taking CBD oil for my shoulder pain. I do feel like I'm sleeping better which would almost have to be related to reduced pain as my shoulder usually wakes me up several times a night but I don't feel much relief during the day. They say it takes a few weeks to get up and running, my fingers are crossed.

Are you using isolate, broad spectrum or full spectrum? Do you mind sharing your dosage and any effects?

I'm using Ultra Cell Full Spectrum and take 1ml before bed each night. It's possible that it was partially responsible for a drop in my (high) blood pressure but I can't be sure. Aside from that the only difference I've noticed so far is that I seem to be sleeping better. My Dad tried it last year and said the same thing, helped him get much better quality sleep.

I tried it for my senior dog when his health was failing. Seemed like maybe it helped for a little while. It would be interesting to know if anything shows on a drug test after taking it for a while.

I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and I tried CBD oil for 4 weeks. I did sleep better and it helped with anxiety but it did nothing for pain relief. I was hopeful but for me it wasn't worth the cost.

All of this stuff should be legal, but I am highly skeptical that anyone will derive any benefits beyond those associated with placebos.

Why do you say that? I am just now starting to look into this. Snake oil is not something I want. I know nothing will be perfect, but if it helps maybe it would be worth it.

Do you know something you could share with the class?
