The T/C is an excellent setup very accurate, versatile with lots of caliber choices. Something else to look at is a large caliber revolver, Ruger, S & W Etc. There are Semi autos that can be used for hunting Desert Eagle, Glock 10mm or a 1911 in 10mm but those are pricey except for the Glock...
This is what I have, really like the extended beavertail. 15rds with the standard mag, 17rds with the extended mag. I like the extended mags since they fit my hands better. I also think the SRT and night sights are a big plus.

All you need is a new pin, a good punch, preferably a roll pin punch and a small hammer. A bench block would be nice but not needed. I f you have a vise with non marring jaws you can take the grips off and hold the frame in a vise. Brownells or Top Gun Supply should have the pin you need.

Looks like you have a roll pin missing or broken off. On my 229 the end of that spring is held under a roll pin that comes in from the left side. I'll see if I can post a pic for you.
I have the Dillon and it will fill a tube faster then I can reload a hundred rounds on my 650. It can be finicky about primers, if the anvil is on the high side they will jam up the works. I haven't had any problems with Winchester, CCI or Federal just Remington. I got the conversion for my...
If you had no other option then to use .223/5.56 for HD I believe a varmint type bullet lighter then 55grs would be best as far as the least amount of over penetration. These bullets have very thin jackets and are designed to expend all there energy on some very small targets. I have shot water...
I changed out the stock on my JP CTR to a Magpul PRS. It is heavier then the tube stock that came with the rifle but is balanced much better. Also what I consider a big plus is the PRS fits me perfectly since it is adjustable. HTH

I use WST in 9mm with a 147gr MGB in my X-5 for a USPSA production class load. It is very accurate and soft shooting. Not the cleanest powder I have ever used but not the dirtiest either. Works for me.

I got a bearing kit from this guy when he was shooting a match at our club. He is a regular at matches in southern Michigan and Northern Indiana but he also has a web site now.

+1 for the Gunner Grips. I have a set on my STI Primier, pretty much indestructible and your grip will never slip with them. I have heard of people sanding them down a little to make them a little less aggressive but I like mine the way they came.
