I know I overpaid, but I was just so happy to see it! It's Hornady Custom - says so on the box. I went to the Hornady site, and I can't find it now. Limited run?
Has anyone seen new 303 savage ammo anywhere else?
I have a very dear friend. He's the minister who married my husband and I. Since my father passed away we've been talking quite a bit about my Dad, and about the guns I've inherited.
My Friend has never fired a gun. He says he would like to, just once. He asked if I would take him to the range...
I'm trying to decide which gun I really want to carry.
Among my collection are a Makarov and a .22 Phoenix. I know, I know, the Phoenix is a junk gun, but my dad and I put several hundred rounds through it without any problems. I'm also pretty good with it - much better than I am with anything...
Among the items I got from my father is a loose cylinder. It would appear to be from a 22 of some kind.
I have a .357 Blackhawk (probably not), a .22LR Single Six (solid maybe) and a .22LR Bearcat (not sure). What do you guys think? How can I tell what it belongs to?
Just wondering. I'm really enjoying my Mark I (until I have to clean it). I saw a Mark III in the shop the other day and wondered what the difference was between models.
Thank you.
I've been wondering something.
I can understand that deeply disturbed people should not have access to weapons. I get it! I really do.
But what about people with mental illness who are in treatment, on medication and are stabilized? Should they have no means to defend themselves?
I have several...
Didn't want to lose these replies in the other thread...
When I look at holsters online, I see them list a number of different models they will fit. Makarov is never one of those. What would be a comparable firearm?
Is there anyone who makes holsters fitted to Makarov?
Are there any decent/reliable/not prohibitively expensive holsters out there that do not require a belt?
I currently purse-carry (I know, I know...) because most of my work wardrobe does not work with a belt. A belt seems to be a requirement for just about every type of holster I find. Is there...
I'm still a long way off from a purchase, but I've been thinking how nice it would be to have a gun I picked out for myself, that fits me really well. Something for EDC would be nice, but not necessary.
I'm not asking about calibers, I'm asking about physical size. I have small hands - I've got...
I think I can see the issues with carrying a gun with an exposed hammer for EDC. Primarily, I think there could be problems if the hammer gets caught up on anything. Any other issues? Is that something that could be mostly negated with the "right" holster?
Does anyone carry a "hammer" gun for EDC?
As my family sorts through my Dad's collection, we find that he had a soft spot for Ruger Revolvers. He had a .357 Blackhawk, a 22LR Single Six and a .357 Security Six.
I kind of like the Security Six. IS that one I should be interested in?
Pros/cons?
OK, I need a little help with my shooting.
I took the Mark I and the Makarov to the range this weekend for some 7-yard practice, and I noticed a few things I'm not doing well.
I can place a decent pattern with the Mark I, but I'm consistently low.
I'm all over the place with the...
I really enjoy my 1965 East German. Easy to handle, pretty easy to shoot. I can't speak for accuracy because I'm just not that accurate with anything yet...Takedown for cleaning is pretty simple, so far (I haven't unscrewed anything yet).
Just wanted to share, see if anyone else likes these.
Does anyone know a good firearms appraiser in the central Indiana region?
I need some sort of appraisal - both for my own information, and for insurance purposes. I know some aren't worth much, but some might be and I don't want to low-ball myself.
Gunbroker.com has been helpful for getting...
I was exploring my Ruger Mark I last night when I noticed a lever on the back of the handgrip. Curiosity overcame me, and I pulled it out to see what it would do. It opened up a big metal arm that swung out to the back. Neat, what's that for? Never mind...I put it all back in place (so I...
My father had a soft spot for these. He had several little .22 pistols - little, like the size of my hand. I get that they'd be easy to carry and conceal, but are they really any use for self-defense? I suppose something is always better than nothing...
What are your opinions of Jennings or...
I was helping my mom sort through the boxes of stuff in my dad's old room and we found more guns. My dad was apparently a big Ruger fan - He had more of those than he did anything else. We're not sure if HE even knew what all he had anymore.
I have a question...How do you click open the...
I'd like to get a couple more magazines for my East German Makarov. I haven't really found anything online, so I may not know what I'm searching for. Any suggestions?
I love you, Daddy. Why did you like so many odd and unusual things and why didn't I want to learn about them when you were...
OK, now on to something truly ignorant...
My father-in-law has something that helps him load rounds into his magazines. Some kind of metal thing that helps to push down so he can slip the rounds in. What is that called and where can I find one?
Are there any "tricks" to loading a magazine? I...
