We Are Our Own Worst Enemy

I'll have to agree to disagree. I don't think that playing the game and appeasement are the same thing. I think that playing the game is the only way to win the game. Those that want your guns will use EVERY possible opening to take them, tax them, or whatever it takes to make them...

      Pics of Your Carry Guns?

The black is a black chromed walther PPK/s. It was supposed to be two tone high polished Chrome and Black Chrome. Fords screwed it up. It took so long to get them back though (like 5 months as I recall) that I just sold it instead of sending it back for them to correct it. I wanted an all...

      Was it something I did?

Me too, but I click it and then go back in and it works just fine.

      NOVA!!!!

I LOVE MY 'Nellies! I have the 28" added the recoil weight to the stock and a magazine tube ext. that walks right to the tip of the barrel. It will carry about 10 shells (darn near 30 of those little aguilla mini shells LOL). Not exactly a hunting gun without a 20" dowel up her tube but she...

      Ruger SR9

Ah the 4006...now you are bringing back memories. I carried that gun in the academy. Not a good memory of that boat anchor, metal shaving, bullet lobbing piece of crap. Sorry for the slightly OT response, I hadn't thought of that old piece in ages. As for the SR9, that is a great price for a...

INDY STAR: Allowed to Carry Guns in Public

I too am amazed at how few people have a permit here in Indiana. I live in the 47130...the number was amazingly low in my opinion. For as simple as the process is, I can't imagine that more don't have them, On the other hand...I think there are probably at least that many that carry without a...

      Finally bought a Kel-Tec :)

I have had the .32 and the .380. I did add the pocket clip. In my case the clip made it easier to carry. I usually have a lot of stuff in my pockets so I like the option of sliding it in the waste of my jeans. I didn't find that it increased my draw time but I can see that as an issue in a...

We Are Our Own Worst Enemy

I am not saying that we need to lay down and let the government take care of us at all. I was thinking more that we need to consider public opinion (US not foreign). We can "play the game right" and lose everything or we can "play the game well" and walk away winners. Being right (read as a...

Do the mods hate me or is the post count wrong?

Well, I didn't think this thread would well up 6 pages of commentary lol but Glad to be here. I can see the point of the rule. I just didn't want to go through the shipping of using Gunbroker and had some things in my local haunt (111 Gunshop here in Clarksville) that didn't jump up and sell...

      who loves the 10mm

I have always feared the 10mm for the whole dying cartridge thing. It just never grabbed hold. A lot like the .357sig (that I went and fell in love with). I am not sure it will ever really take hold and I may end up having a gun I can't get ammo for. I have fired a 10 Glock and really liked...

      Bar Shootout video

Well, lots to say on that one. The first, that it is a cultural thing. Our culture puts so little value on human life that someone would think it was a reason to kill a man just because he asked you to leave a bar. Two, the fact that people think laws (like you can't carry in a bar) protect...

Even the "Gunny" gets scope bite

Yup, I've seen a few of those my self. I love to see how the Gunny goes back to the beginning and works his way through the history of the item in question. The technology is amazing. My 6 year old so loves it too. It is neat to be able to share with him how we got to where we are. I think...

We Are Our Own Worst Enemy

Interesting that they didn't discuss all personal sales or internet sales. I know it is not a popular thing but...I am not all that opposed to making all sales require a background check. I am not opposed to registering the ones I have. My concern is that if we continue to fight the "it is my...

Buying the wife a 380 suggestions

Amy (the wife) has a Sig 232. She pretty much worships it. I have not been at all disappointed with it as far as accuracy or reliability. It is a good size for a womans hand. I had a Kel-Tec 3at but it kicked pretty well with such little weight. I had the NAA in .32. That was a great...

      New 10/22

My kid loves the look...but really 625.00 for a "tactical" .22??? I bought an MP-5 conversion kit for my 10-22 a few years back from a gun on gunbroker. He was a slug. The "stock" he sold me was an airsoft gun he had converted to house the 10-22 like a bull pup. It is a fun to shoot toy...

      H&R 410 survivor

I had the .243 a .20 GA and I have a .410. Never had the survivor stock but it looks sweet. I always like them as training guns for kids. My .243 got stolen in a break-in years ago. The guy got a tack driver of a rifle with a piece of crap BSA Scope.

      Son's Cricket Sniper Rifle.

Got Mini-Me a Henry mini bolt in stainless synthetic. Was a great gift! He was thrilled at the chance to own his very own. Now I have an idea for what to do this afternoon. Thanks! Oh, and let him know good choice on the scope...balance be darned.

To Cutomize or Not to Customize...

I agree with the keep it for life thing. I am always cautious about a "full custom" gun that is used. I might not balk at an ext. safety or a some dehorning but I worry when it is custom this and custom that. I am a Glock guy. The idea of custom equals finicky in my mind.

      S&W Sigma .40

My PD carried them back in the mid 90's. S&W was kind enough to send us a letter that said they were NOT recalling them but that they found that staging the trigger (stroking the trigger back gently and stopping just before the snap) and then releasing (like if you were about to have to shoot a...
