50 shades of who gives a ****.
My thoughts exactly!
50 shades of who gives a ****.
my biggest fear is all of the guys who see this movie, decide "im gonna dom now" and start physically and emotionally abusing their SO - this thought terrifies me.
I laugh at all these women that get all into this movie. This
kind of stuff has been out in real porn movies for years. Ask any of
the women if they would go see those movies in theaters if there so obsessed with it
and see what there response is.
I just don't get the fascination with this movie and book
all of a sudden. It's just a fad film anyway that will disappear
in a couple months.
50 Shades of....Printcraft?????????
Some of you guys could sure stand to learn about what women like...
This thread is funny. I haven't met a single woman, in my personal life or women I know at work, who didn't enjoy the book and isn't planning on seeing the movie.

The wife read the series. Says the "love making" is XXX rated. So, I'm sure an "R" rated movie isn't going to satisfy those who read the books.
Personally - not my cup of tea. Fortunately the wife is going with her friends to watch it and let me off the hook.
By the way, since when is a movie that's basically soft core porn equated with love to the extent it opens on Valentines Day?
My girlfriend specifically told me we would not be going to see "that stupid f'ing film", so don't think I have to take her to go see it. I was really relieved because my response to the movie is:

I definitely wouldn't call the books xxx rated. Also, softcore porn is on HBO late at night. I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm quite sure it isn't softcore porn.
I didn't read the whole thread, but I did read the books. I'm not an English Lit teacher but I am fairly well read and I thought the books were poorly written without any real twists or turns, highly repetitive and totally expectable. They give a wildly inaccurate view of the BDSM community and what that lifestyle is really about.
I also am embarressed to see the social change these junk books have brought about, a huge percentage of people love the books and for all the wrong reasons. If the character was a blue collar guy, would the story still work? Or course not, so is it really a love story about people who give themselves to each other? Or is it about the attraction to money and power? Standard romance novel junk that appealed to a lot of unsatisfiable people.
Does she read romance novels?

I didn't think they were xxx rated. Maybe a strong R-17!
