I went to Miles Lab for lunch today in Elkhart.

I tried out their Breaded tenderloin it was really tasty.
It was served on Brioche Bun with cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickle.

And a Fritter :puke: is NOT the same thing as a Breaded Tenderloin!

    AGREED!

If ever in Columbus, try the one at Ziggies (off US31, in Rural King shopping center). My favorite local T-loin.

    Thanks,

    Craig
Ziggy's is the best I know of in Columbus, since Shorty's is gone. With apologies to Joey and Debbie, I've not had Kramer's tenderloin. It could be the best for all I know. But I've had Ziggy's (my band plays there) and it was great.

No, not the same thing. All breaded tenderloins are fritters but not all fritters are tenderloins.

Kinda like all bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.

I like bourbon! But I don't care for all whiskey. Scotch sucks but those Canadians distill some tasty stuff. This being a tenderloin thread bourbon seems appropriate. Bourbon and Tenderloin!!!!!! Maybe that's what I will do on Inauguration Day.

I used to work a bar in Ft Branch called The Country Side. After closing we would sometimes head to Lakeview Truck Stop on Hwy 41 to eat. I would always get the Breaded tenderloin with a side of Krinkle cut fries.

The place was torn down several years ago.

Kokomo mentioned, but not Ned's Corner Pub (only searched first 3 or 4 pages).
Used to go there for lunch, on Thursdays (tenderloing day IIRC).
But that was yrs ago. Haven't been there since........proly 2008.
Never had a bad tenderloin there. Think one was good, the others fantastic.
I used to hit Ray's too. Good, just different types.

FWIW, regarding the confusion about tenderloin vs. fritter.

A tenderloin is a cut of meat.

    pork-cuts.jpg

Fritter, in this case, is basically a method of cooking involving frying something, usually small, dipped in batter.

    https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fritter
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritter

The sandwich starts with a pork tenderloin, pounded flat, and then prepared like a fritter. The result is normally called a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich, but if someone calls it a pork fritter sandwich there is a logic to it. It is also perfectly reasonable to still call it a tenderloin even though it was pounded flat since that is the cut of meat you started with.
To really screw everything up, most hand cut tenderloin sandwiches are cut from a boneless pork loin, not the actual tenderloin.

I almost asked if anyone knew whether restaurants really used the tenderloin or not. Thanks!

It would have been great if it had originally been called a Hoosier pork sandwich or something like that, a distinctive name that wouldn't be confused with something else.

All this talk about tenderloins has got me going to my favorite breakfast spot that makes a damn good breakfast tenderloin in the morning.

Not in IN so won't drop business name.

Been a long time since I've had one but Headquarters (known as Fritch's before Whop retired) in Jasper had some really good ones. A little onion, a couple slices of dill pickle, and a dab of ketchup. Yum!
