Hopefully, in the aftermath of this we get a massive revamping of a few alphabet agencies. Couple of these cost us time, maybe lives with their insane bureaucracy. Like with the FBI, we'd be better off to fire everyone and start over.

Also a good hard look at the HIPAA privacy rules need to be looked at. How many folks have been infected that would not have, if they knew who they were dealing with or had dealt with?

They should have warned us of all the dangers than let the businesses decide whether to stay open and let people decide if they want to congregate.

I do believe the virus reaction in the USA is over done.

I like this way of thinking. Those alphabet boys will fight tooth and nail to save their jobs and the whole system however.
Somehow, they need to learn that they work for us but I just don’t see how that will happen. The systems too big I’m afraid.

Oh there’ll be a massive revamping alright, they’ll have to go on a hiring spree to have enough people to enforce all the new powers they will eventually be granted the longer this lasts.

We are talking about people that need a sticker on the lawn mower telling them not to reach underneath while the blade is turning as well as a handle that stops the blade/mower when you release it just in case they didn't read the sticker. Do you really think letting them make an informed choice will result in them taking any responsibility for their actions?

I don’t think it’s that deep. I think China just ****ed up. It’s hard to get 3 people to keep a secret, let alone media and 3 governing bodies. Beans would spill eventually and everyone involved would be hunted by the world
With all due respect I do not understand why people always say this, "it's hard to keep a secret" or "it's impossible to keep a secret this big".
No, it really isn't. This is what governments have whole agencies for.
It really is simple when the majority of a countrys people believe everything their government or the media tells them hook line and sinker.
Case in point: Lots of medical professionals around the world had done studies and proved the virus could spread by air transmission but our own CDC said no one except medical and first responders needed to wear masks or facial coverings, knowing this was a lie. But the day after the president was on TV saying wear a mask or handkerchief the stores had 75% more people wearing masks. Noticeably different!! And now you have local governments passing ordinances making masks mandatory to be in public. Helllllooooooo. Should have been wearing them a month ago but the same government told them not to. Straight up NOT TO! So people laughed at people wearing masks.
Just like they laughed at people 2 months ago that said grocery store shelves were going to be empty.
Or just like people laugh at people who said the govt lied about radiation testing on U.S. citizens, but now that's come out too. So many other classified things

Parts of the media ARE owned by parts of the government too. They say and do what they are told and so does anyone working for those agencies. The bigger and more outlandish the secret, the easier it is the cover up.

JFK is one. Frankly If you believe the Warren report, you are a sucker.
Theres plenty of factual evidence our government covered up a conspiracy to assassinate a sitting president and most likely parts of that govt had a hand in perpetrating it too. Facts, real facts and they've suppressed them.
So no sorry, secrets are not hard to keep when you are the govt.
OUR govt will use coersion or theyll straight up kill your ass to keep their secrets. So do you really think China wouldnt?
Theyve already killed people in China blowing the whistle early over covering up coronavirus and that's been proven.

At this point the U.S. government has a reason to keep from outing what they KNOW China has done. Whether that's to protect intelligence gathering techniques or sources or assets or to wait until our country opens again before starting a potential war. Who knows.
But our government knows China did this intentionally and they know what China is still doing.

I've never seen so much hard talk against the Chinese government as I have until recent last 6 months or so.
You had the secretary of state blast China for bribing U.S. businesses and leaders and even bribing local politicians to try and bring Chinese influence into our country. This was HUGE.
You have the justice department issuing warrants for Chinese nationals and Chinese government employees. HUGE.
Big things are going to happen with China soon. Big things. Watch.
Wait until the U.S. starts confiscating Chinese assets and reversing market trades. Watch other countries follow.
Gonna get ugly fast. But China needs to pay.

China knows no bounds and will stop at nothing in their quest for world dominance. The time is now upon the US and the rest of the world to engage. They are bad actors. Wake up.

Paper and N95 masks do not screen out viruses. Comparatively speaking, they are designed to screen out things the size of a football field, where a virus is the size of a tennis ball. They are just sneeze shields to keep _you_ from projecting your droplets onto others. The government asks you to wear them, because they know the 6-foot social distancing guidelines cannot be consistently met by people riding on mass transit to their "essential" workplaces. That is why they ask you to wear them. It has value; but it does not screen viruses out of the air. It's a band-aid, not a cure that stops you from getting it.

Now more than ever, it's important we keep our facts straight. Because how the history books "get written" after this is over will become the "guidelines" that get shoved down all our throats, _next_ time.

Recommending scarves and bandanas for the general public to wear is only designed to keep a potentially infected individual from spewing toxic fog into the air.

NYU scientists: Largest U.S. study of COVID-19 finds obesity the single biggest factor in New York’s hospitalizations

More and more over time, as non-Chinese doctors and scientists analyze Wuhan coronavirus, we are finding out just how bad the information that came from China is. Remember that they wouldn't let the CDC in to help analyze the disease when it was limited to China and we had to accept what the Chinese and WHO said was going on.

On a related note, papers on this disease now must pass political as well as medical screening:
-China Is Censoring Research on COVID-19 Origins
-Beijing tightens grip over coronavirus research, amid US-China row on virus origin

So this is why all the med staff wear them and have a fit when they don’t have enough?
An N95 mask filters out 95% of particles down to .3 microns. The virus is smaller than that, but will highly likely be bonded to other particles and will be caught. This link
    https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/coronavirus-pollution-masks-n95-surgical-mask/
has an interesting chart showing what a handkerchief and different masks can do.
So, as you say, it’s important we keep our facts straight, and IF THEY WOULD HAVE TOLD US ALL TO WEAR MASKS WE WOULDNT HAVE TO SHUT DOWN THE ECONOMY, if they would have treated us like adults that can handle the truth (are we?) things would be much different now. Less cases, less deaths, economy basically open.
I don’t want history wrongly written either but not sure what masks have to do with that.
If there’s a way to prevent a next time I’d be all for that.
