    Crisis averted.

Damn... now what should I be outraged over? I hope ingo will let me know.

I get it. You two dont care about PII and overzealous data collection and overreach. Some of us do.

I'm disappointed, I didn't get carded at all when I bought CameraMonkey's beer when I was in Wisconsin.

Dude, you have so much grey in your beard at only 45 you were asked if you were in senior division at one of the matches! :): (true story!)

This thread has me curious about another purchase now. Having recently purchased pseudoephedrine (the real stuff not the fake stuff) I'm reminded that all pharmacies scan your license at the time of purchase because a small number of people like to use it to make meth. If they are not verifying that the info they scan is indeed a valid ID, it would be trivially easy to alter the bar code details rendering the scanning ineffective as a deterrent and only inconveniencing the people who want to breath through their nose.

They're only interested in how often the holder of that license buys pseudoephedrine. Cookers are really good customers

Realistically they would only need to link DL# to the purchase date(s) and it is likely a state program, so if they want info on a particular license holder they can get it

Talked to an exec today. (Had to call because my message was never saved in their system) He was MUCH more pleasant than the store manager, and he assured me that corporate policy is that cashiers may EITHER scan OR type in the DOB from the front, but no scan=no sale is improper and any requirements to do so are going against corporate policy.

The store director is being contacted and corrections are supposed to be made.

Not that I'm in favor of scanning driver's licenses to purchase alcohol, I'm not. Just thought I'd leave a reminder of one corporation that stood by the rights of Gun Owners back in 2015 against the anti-gun demands of Mom's Demand Action. Yes, it was Kroger. And now that Cameramonkey clarified that the actual store policy is either to scan OR type in the DOB, I think I'd still shop at Kroger and simply decline the scan when purchasing alcohol.
