I really do not understand the difference between what DD said and the promo for cuties.

What is the difference? Help me understand what the difference between a young girl being dressed up like a call girl for a beauty pageant and how they are dressed up in the movie promo? Why is one acceptable and the other not?

I am curious, though. If the actors were 18 and just looked young and portrayed 11 year olds would there still be the outrage? Is the outrage the fact that actual 11 year olds were acting out the scenes, the fact that the scenes were even filmed at all, or both?

Great question...

I feel that it is still wrong to portray children in that manner. We can understand a story line without the graphics; we did for centuries.

The same question can be asked about comics and graphics. The computer images are so real, life like. Even in that media, it is wrong. The next question would, what about just audio of children ,that is inappropriate - still wrong. Any exploitation of children (in any media), IMO, is wrong and should be illegal with stiff penalties.

Children are children.....not objects for sensual pleasure; regardless of story line.

They did not "dress her up for the movie promo". The way she was dressed at that moment was part of the plot.

I have not seen it either and I no zero plans to. I have a daughter in this age group and from everything I have heard about it and the clips I have seen I have no interest in watching it. Is it porn, not sure. I think of it more as a nudge, just to see what they can get away with and how much they can push it.
