How about putting a 24 hour delay before classified ads show up in the regular section. Then give supporters a way to view it earlier, So they can jump on good deals first.

+1! I might ease it up where a new person can post-to-purchase or WTB but no trading or selling without a Site Support.

I like this too. What's $10 in return for getting to post your WTS ad, or even more so, ADS?

10 post minimum to post a WTB, or respond to an ad, 10 post minimum AND Site Supporter to post a WTT/WTS.

As for perks, the ingunowners.com email addys would be sweet.

Maybe only site supporters can start Threads in the classifieds section but anyone can reply to them. This way anyone can buy stuff but only supporters get to post their ads to sell stuff?

Just a thought. The email and new banners sound like a great idea too.

No extra goodies are necessary. Freebees won't entice others to be site supporters and will only increase expenses.

Restrictions on posting create a caste system. I was going to say something about 'untouchables' -- no, not the Eliot Ness kind -- but I'll be good.:D

It's not necessary just the posting the new threads in the classifieds for the new people. It's that they come in to swipe up the good deals before long time members. Bumping up the thread count may still be the way to go. I don't know about grandfathering in the current ones with 10 posts though. I'm a little torn because there are people that have been members for months and just truly enjoy reading the site. Some don't like to post.

I have no problem with the "donation" and then getting some perks for it. Why not? I came on here, read thru some of the threads, posted where I thought was appropriate and sold something quickly. I made a donation at the 1500 back in Jan. I think it was but didn't even know about the site then. I had just gotten back in country and was spending $$ like a drunk contractor so I wasn't paying alot of attention to small details! No big deal. At the next 1500 show I will be stopping by the table to make my "donation" as I prefer to do things FTF. Do I expect any perks? No. Will I turn any down? No. It is what it is and if the rules change a little that's fine. If I don't like it I can take my toys and go home

How about a lending section for site supporters?
Being able to borrow things that otherwise get like a day's use by their owners. Rototillers, paint sprayers, aerators, etc.

    Just a thought.

Ok. If you pay you can have a say in kinky little perks like virtual bacon tattoos, double-secret classified classifieds, and anyotheroboyoboyoboythismakesmefeelreallyimportantthing.

    But...

If you pay...you have no input on what does and what does not fly on here? None at all.

    Cooky.

Since so many people seem to have trouble understanding this, I'll try to put in other terms. While we are trying to bring the board back under control, the rules stand as stated. LATER ON, things will loosen up again. But for RIGHT NOW, the rules are not open for discussion.

    Is that clear enough?

site supporter does not mean you have free license to do whatever.
(evidence is out there if you look) have some respect and don't pee in the pool.

Since I have no trouble admitting that I am an idiot and can not navigate around the site without some difficulty, I would be more than happy to contribute some more to the cause if someone would get my site supporter status back up. I am chraland51 and I paid my dues by check sometime soon after June 5th, but just noticed that my site supported designation has disappeared. Please to not yell at me because I have broken some rule in contacting you this way. I can not even find the rules to follow to contact anyone, let alone the rules regarding how to make your payments. When I recently sent in my dues, that was just as a result of sheer luck as I just stumbled onto the instructions that were sent to another member. At my job as a supervisor, whenever I have trouble with doing something with a computer, I just have one of my just out of college subordinates come over to my cubicle and fix the problem or show me how to do it. Again, I apologize if I am not doing this correctly. I do enjoy this site and it is the only one that I have ever belonged to.

There is a Forum just for Site Support questions here:

I would suggest starting a thread there, you should get a quicker response..

First off, I love this site AS IS. I thank you Fenway and all the Mod for running things so smoothly while allowing people to be themselves. I was never much of an internet person, but I have to admit that I’m now an addict.

I am essentially a newbie at handguns. I stumbled upon this site over a year ago when I first started researching gun laws in Indiana. We had some close calls medically (hubby almost died) and I forgot about this place. Then, almost a year later, I get a happy b-day from INGO. I started reading and asking questions. I received help and advice without anyone questioning my post count/knowledge. I chose to become a site supporter because I wanted this to be available to everyone who just isn’t certain where to turn.

That said, I would LOVE a patch or sticker but I would rather buy it to support the site further.
