    You and Jamil should date.

And whilst engaged, perhaps you could coach each other on contextual subsets.

Dude, you should put the pipe down now. Perhaps you'll take the word of a Jewish organization?

    | Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation

    Nazi

The common name of the National Socialist German Workers Party, NSDAP a right-wing, nationalistic, antisemitic political party that believed in the natural superiority of the German “race”. Aryans were the master race. Headed by Adolf Hitler, the Nazis came into power in Germany in 1933 and sought to strengthen their empire, known as the Third Reich, by enslaving and annihilating racially "inferior" peoples including Slavs, Gypsies and especially Jews.

Doesn't seem to mention any non-Third Reich members

Pretty sure you can't become Khmer Rouge by espousing some of their ideas, either

I relied on Merriam-Webster. You are grasping for partial definitions to bolster your position...which I'm not sure what that might be. Are you supporting the election of this dude as a GOP conservative? WTF?

Parsing definitions misses the point. But, if you have bad facts, argue semantics. Jamil 101.

You are debating the meaning of words. With yourself.

Focus, grasshopper. Real world Nazi is a GOP candidate. That is bad news for the party and Illinois. If he gets elected, it is another toll of the bell.

WTF are you talking about? This isn’t a debate. I’m helping you understand words which you didn’t seem to understand.

So what would make you think the GOP candidate would win? It doesn’t sound to me like the party is going to help him either.

I am so disgusted with the Federal Government. They have no anchor in reality. We are already borrowing money at a mind boggling rate, so what do they do? Of course they pass a spending bill that increases spending. The two parties make a deal that increases both of their favorite areas. The Republicans want more military spending and the Democrats want more domestic spending. A match made in pork heaven.

    The money quotes:

"When the Democrats are in power, Republicans appear to be the conservative party," Paul said at one point. "But when Republicans are in power, it seems there is no conservative party. The hypocrisy hangs in the air and chokes anyone with a sense of decency or intellectual honesty."

"The reason I'm here tonight is to put people on the spot," Paul said. "I want people to feel uncomfortable. I want them to have to answer people at home who said, 'How come you were against President Obama's deficits, and then how come you're for Republican deficits?' "

Yeah it's CNN and they probably didn't care when the previous administration was signing off on ever growing deficits and government but when you're right, you're right and Rand Paul is right.

Merriam-Webster has become more of a resource for how words are used in addition to defining the actual meaning of words. But colloquialisms should be given their place, and not allowed to supplant technical terms. Don't let the rednecks and reality stars win.

Yeah he's a Nazi. It's nonsense to say otherwise. The has participated in Neo-Nazi rallies, celebrates Adolph Hitler's birthday, denies the Holocaust occurred, and was the leader of a chapter of a Neo-Nazi organization. Today, he was asked if he was a "Nazi," on CNN, and he simply said that he is no longer a member of any official Nazi organization. If he's not a Nazi, that question is answered with a simple "no."

Not a Nazi, per se. But a neo-nazi for sure. And those are different animals.

Regardless, I hope he gets lynched by a mob of Jews.

Those are the only definitions. There haven't been real Nazis since 1945 (except a few who got there neck stretched in 1946). Jones (who was born in 1948) is not and has never been a member of the NSGWP, ergo he's not a Nazi. Jamil is right, you're conflating satanist with Satan - the difference is orders of magnitude

Perhaps, in your zeal to paint all Republicans as closet KKK/Racist/Nazis, you missed this part of my quote. This subject has come up in other threads, and was dealt with by people with unimpeachable credentials to do so. It was serious discussion, perhaps you lost interest.

Only if you narrow your definition to the NAZI party of that era. There have been Neo Nazi groups spring up since which essentially include the things the old NAZI party believed.

Kut correctly identified the things that could classify a Nazi in today’s terms. It’s not just one thing that makes one wholly a Nazi, like Alpo said. And that was my only beef with what he said. But then he got caught up with thinking he was being attacked and had to lash out.

I haven’t said anything about the military parade because everything I have to say about it has been said. The only thing I can think of to add is that I wonder if he’s really serious about it or is he trolling people like he does. But if he’s serious, Trumpers should spend some time reflecting on what kind of leader that makes him compared to the kind of leader they imagine him to be.

That was the first article I saw this morning on it. I was disappointed to see that Cruz was on-board since they were getting money for hurricane recovery.

Numbers I pulled up in a cursory internet search

Stalin responsible for 20-25 million deaths. The Gulag, work camps and re-education camps, starvation used as a weapon.

Hitler responsible for 11 million deaths, including 5-6 million jews. Concentration camps and industrialized murder.

Bernie Sanders responsible for 0 known deaths, no known innovations in repression

Arthur Jones responsible for 0 known deaths, no known innovations in mass murder

I have no qualms characterizing peeps as neo-whatever, admit that we should not allow past evils to again take root - but as you said in an earlier post, Nazi is in danger of going the way of racist and becoming a term devoid of its true meaning.

See: soup nazi, grammer nazi etc etc

Cue the argument that the internet numbers about how many each killed are wrong in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

I can think of a thousand things that money could be used for in a way that actually benefited the military, and by extension the nation. Better boots would probably save us money in the long term. But probably the number one thing to do with that money is to not spend it in the first place.
