    Bought a 60" samsung tv, paid off a credit card, and bought a SW 642. Looking at a new XD mod 2 in .45 with my bonus. The springfield rebate is hard to pass up.

    I plan my federal taxes correctly, so I usually only get a little back. My wife gets some nice deduction due to her job so state always manages to be nice. We bought a new dryer, the old one crapped out the day before we did our taxes.

    My little sister explained to me that if I elected to give the government more out of my weekly paycheck, I could get a bigger refund. I told her I would rather put money in a jar than rely on someone giving me back my money.

    Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 :whistle:

    ^^^^ This!

    I would rather pay when taxes are due than let someone else hold MY money all year.

    Even though I could not back him on may issues, One of the things Pete Dupont ran on was a flat rate tax. Every one pays the same percentage. You could make one dollar or a billion, no deductions, no loop holes, no deferments. Pay it when you make it. Think of how smooth that would be.

    If your getting a large Tax Return redo your Deductions! Why would you let anyone use your Money without even a small % of interest?
    :dunno::dunno:

    ^^^^^^^^^ This is my thoughts/method exactly^^^^^^^ I basically try to break even. Maybe get a couple hundred back, but that is all. Like cousin Eddie(Christmas Vacation) says "Clark... its the gift that keeps on givin the whole year through":laugh:

    I know its wise financial management to adjust your deductions so you are as close to break even as you can be.

    However for me, I am not disciplined enough to take that "extra" money I have during the year and squirrel it away somewhere so I have a lump sum to use for something special in Spring.

    It may be financially incorrect, but I look at having some extra taken out during the year as a no interest baring savings account. In Spring, I get a nice check that my family and I do something cool with.

    I will adjust deductions this year so I am closer to break even with hopefully a small check coming from them instead of me sending one.

    $1000 bill to Uncle Sam really messes me up this year. I had plans.:)

    I also am not the most responsible with money and make sure I do a little better than breaking even So I don't have to worry about oweing. I ended up getting the old lady her first handgun and I got the new ruger american 9 compact.

    Got the Boss a new lift chair and bought myself some ar pistol project parts. Not the most financially sound plan, but the kids wont fight over any inheritance this way. I tell them I will come back and haunt them if they do that.:laugh:

    I didn't have a return to speak of... Never do. The feds owed me a couple hundred and I owed the state a couple hundred. Thats about the yearly theme for me.

    Most went in savings. The rest went to paying the feds. God bless Indiana for giving me a little back! I took that and filed 2 form 1s because the feds need thier money, and I need my paid permissions?
