Wow. First paragraph is a bunch of $2 words for whining.
That’s one of the problems I have with George Will. He thinks the more often he digs into the thesaurus the more he’s able to express scathing emphasis. C’mon, dude. Just say it. If you have something worthwhile to say, expensive words don’t add value. When he does that, it makes me think he cares more about what people think of his vocabulary.

Funny. There is a guy who works for another company that we partner with for a lot of things that is the same way. I wonder if it is genetic or maybe they went to the same school. :):

I think it kinda comes naturally and needs to be embarrassed out of some people. I had a creative writing teacher in high school who cured me. I turned in a short story assignment and when the teacher handed the papers back after grading, for the class to discuss, she asked if I was trying to tell a story or trying to impress her with my use of a thesaurus. The other kids laughed of course. If the audience is phd’s, use the appropriate vocabulary. If it’s readers of a column, what’s their vocabulary? Can the idea you’re trying to convey only be expressed with an expensive word? Okay. Fine. But the cost of that is making most of the readers who might read that column look the word up.

If you can't dazzle them with diamonds, baffle them with BS?

There is a broad middle ground between Will and....Trump. YUGE!

Dude, Will has a mega-creepy infatuation with baseball, I think its some kind of compensation

He seems a bit light in the loafers

Baseball needs to be put in a freezer somewhere until they find a cure

Should the WH publicly apologize for the WH Staffer's comments about John McCain, or should she be fired, demoted.... or do nothing?

There are people who really appreciate the game of baseball. They're true fans more than I'd say they have a mega-creepy infatuation. I'd say I'm more of a casual fan. But I won't fault Will for appreciating the game more than I do. No need to seek out reasons to dislike him. Isn't that he dissed Trump enough for you? :stickpoke:
