That certainly looks better than a crab cake. Still, taking perfectly delicious crab meat and adulterating it with a bunch of filler and unnecessary s***, just seems wrong though.
Theres the plus, a bit of Old Bay and in the salamander. Its not a bunch of mayo, mustard and crackers. Its a Crab Bomb.

If this is the case you are doing it wrong, and most restaurants do it wrong. That should be called cake with crab, a crab cake has just enough binder to hold it together so it will hold when cooked. I believe I have the perfect mix when 20% of my crab cakes fall apart in the cast iron skillet…

Folks in the Heartland to out west grow up with a poor understanding of what seafood should be.
Its like those that think Indiana Beach is really the beach.
They don't get its missing waves, salt and tides.

To be clear, while minimal filler would be an improvement, good crab shouldn't need anything except butter and really good crab probably doesn't need that.

Let's be clear. NO ONE thinks Indiana Beach is really a beach.
Well you should get out more Councilor.
How about no one that has a reasonable education then

Lots of the Hoosiers believe its really a beach.
Probability because most Hoosiers have never actually been on a beach and smelled salt water. :lmfao:
Sad to say that by and large Hoosiers are not traveling willburys.

This what the MSM is saying...

Scientists need to conduct further research to determine what exactly caused this year's snow crab population crash. But the devastation comes three years after record heat hit the Bering Sea in 2019 — just as the crab population appeared to be booming.

Polar regions, including Alaska, are warming faster than the rest of the planet as human-driven greenhouse gas emissions trap more heat and raise global temperatures. Scientists suspect those rising water temperatures are driving the crash of some of the world's most popular crabs.

"We're along for the ride. It's hard to predict or pretend we could have influences on a stock that is subject to Mother Nature and climate change," Miranda Westphal, an area management biologist with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, told NBC. "They need time and space and favorable conditions to rebuild."
Figured this would get tied to global warming somehow. Gonna have to get longer ropes for the crab pots.

Well. The missing Alaskan crabs are only part of this puzzle....

Both the King Crabs and Snow crabs live on the Russian side too... and the overfish the living crap out of them.
US keeps introducing all sorts of fishing restrictions and curbs, and Russia does nothing.. so the Alaskan crabs migrate over to the Russian area because there is more food there because there are less crabs eating the food.

For better or for worse, The Soviets introduced crabs from the Bering sea, over near their border with Norway. They are everywhere there.

Because of the sanctions, none of these crabs can come here.
