      Dan Wesson 1911 experience

I picked up the DW PM9 at Christmas time. To date, best handgun purchase I have made. It is way more accurate than I am. Crisp trigger pull at 3.5# out the box. Now I'm having a hard time deciding between the Valor in 10mm or Guardian in 38 super.

      2024 Blue Python

The wife will be happy to hear this, at least happy for a year. I haven't been able to resist any of these releases. I reckon I'll be in line for the 6" when the time comes.

Why does slamming the slide closed on an empty chamber or dry firing damage a handgun?

DO NOT dryfire a rimfire pistol. I have seen some beautiful, and pricey, pistols become completely inoperable because of this. Some modern pistols have addressed this, but most don't know which ones, treat them all the same. I'm pretty sure the misnomer of damage from dry firing a center fire...

What is a Good Reliable 22 Cal. 1911 Pistol?

I also have the SIG. Fantastic in feel, and the only problem I have had with cheap ammo was with the ammo itself. The SIG has performed flawlessly with over 1000rds through it. Each trip to the range it is usually fired by 6-10 different people, at least 40rds per

What's a good sequence of acquisition for handguns?

First off, if you are a hunter, you'll probably already have a hunting rifle/shotgun. If you aren't, any firearm will get the job done once the SHTF. IMHO, there is no order in which to acquire, so the numbers are for separation, not a ranking/priority. 1. Full size pistol 2. 2nd Full size (1...

A WTS thats $100 over msrp, why?

I happen to know 2 individuals, both legally able and competent to posses firearms, that will happily pay $100 over, if it ensures there is no paper trail for the government to record the firearms they have accumulated, and put them on their "LIST" to raid first when the SHTF.

      Scary Customer Encounter at GM

IMHO, Ruger marketing did OK on this one. I have had at least 5 people that I have taken to the range and introduced them to handguns that have said "I really like the feel of the .45, but the .22 is a lot more fun. Do they make a .22 with the feel of a .45?" 2 of them ended up getting the Ruger...

Unreasonable to ask for signed bill of sale on private gun sale?

So, you require me to write down my personal info for you to keep? Red Flag You require me to have a LTCH, or I'm not worthy of purchasing your firearm? Red Flag PITA ahead. Time for me to keep walking. It's your choice, feel free to require it-for someone else.

      Need Your Opinion and Help

Have you been Blythe's? The few times I have actually spoken with their staff, I have been really surprised how much time they invest, kowing i was unable to purchase at those times.

Would you agree to a required class if...

Here's my thoughts. Keep the ltch the same, background check, finger print, etc. for the four year license. Alter the lifetime with a class, similar to the ABATE for motorcycles, and use that lifetime license as your background check. As once was, show your license and check out. You would still...

      Once the AR-15 bubble breaks...

My $.02- Prices will come back down, since a ban appears to be unobtainable. Unfortunately, manufacture costs will probably be higher as companies start to gear up to crank out more product. Meaning, that $600 AR will then cost $750 when everything settles. Remember when a SKS was $100? A craze...

      ZX Guns

I saw them at the Valpo show last year. Not only did they have what i had been searchig for (lot of time spent looking for certain pistol that no one seemed to carry any more), it was $50 less than the best price i had seen. Guy I dealt with was friendly, informative, and patient, while being...

      Outdoor ranges?

Kingsbury is nice since it was redone. There was a minimal fee, but the Rangemasters were on point, and made for a great shoot when it got crowded.

9mm EDC for my wife. Need your help.

My wife has small hands and after placing many guns in them, she found the Ruger SR9c. She fell in love instantly with its feel and reaffirmed it at the range. Though, to be fair, she does not EDC, only to and from the range.

Colt 1911, it will be mine, oh yes it will be mine.

I'm sure my next 1911 will be a Colt.... or a Springfield, or S&W, or... Well, it'll be a 1911 anyways!
