      My new budget AR

Here is my new AR. Decided to give it a touch of retro styling, well kinda. Standard midlength flat top wearing a Type E surplus A1 stock, and new A2 grip and commercial M4 style hand guards. She's wearing a surplus carry handle sight for now. I'll eventually toss on a 1-4x scope when I have the...

Ammo ? for the CZ gurus

Thinking of buying some laquered steel case 9x19 ammo soon. Just to try it out. Will the new made CZ75s handle the stuff?

      All ye CZ fans rejoice.

Yes, I am about 95% sold on the idea of making my next handgun purchase a good ole CZ-75BD in 9x19. It's been many, many years since I've actually played around with one, but I don't remember having any negative impressions from back then. I was a die hard 1911 guy at the time, so..... Now to...

      Just finished this Trade Musket

After a couple of years of on again-off again work I finally got everything finished on this Indian trade musket. It's 20 bore and I've not yet had an opportunity to shoot it yet, although I did do a function check of priming the pan to see if everything to that point worked as it should. Not...

      Dillon 650 question

Still in the research, dreaming and saving $$$ phase here on a new progressive. But I am wondering if anyone here disables the auto indexing cam on their 650 while they do initial set ups? I was playing around with the demo model at Keisslers/Orion here in Jeffersonville and discoved the cam was...

      another petition

      .308 Small base question

Maybe someone here knows the reason for this. I am about to run some 7.62 Nato brass thru the SB sizer and have read not to use this stuff in bolt action rifles. What is the reasoning for this? I know I can use surplus 7.62 in .308 chambered bolt rifles.

WTS: Romanian "G" AK kit w/original barrel

Up for sale here is a 1981 vintage Romanian AK kit. Most parts match, I think the selector is the exception. Has been competently demilled, no old reciever stubs attached. Front lower handguard has been replaced with a Romanian palmswell style. The upper and lower handguards have been...

      Reloading for the M14???

As some of you may have noticed from another thread in the long guns section, I am currently considering (strongly at that) getting back into the M14 scene. When I had my old Poly M14 I just shot cheaper surplus thru it, never got to the point of reloading for it. I'm not looking for load data...

      Hey Saturday Knob Creek goers....

Feel like a meet and greet? How does 2pm near the far end of the big open vendor shed? That is the big one right across from the range/gun shop. Suggestions welcome, so long as the time ain't noon in front of the Copes Dist. booth.

Anyone here ever built a SBR AK?

I am thinking real hard about doing this. Several places are still offering the AMD65 kits affordably, so I might pick one up and give this a go. Hoping to find one at the Knob Creek shoot Saturday. If anyone has done this more locally, I might be giving you a shout about Form 1 particulars and...

      Busy week of reloading.

So far this week I've loaded up 20 .45-70 BP rounds for load developement. 20 .223 load developement rounds for the 77gr Sierra HPBTs. 30 of my standard 5.56 XM193 clones, with more slated tonight. and 50 developement rounds of 9mm. Also let the 8 y/o daughter 'help' me last night and she...

Some of you older folks will recognize the title. But this isn't going to be about Virginia Slims or any other sort of cigarette. It's about how things have changed in the firearms community (was going to say fraturnity, but with the rapid increase of Ladies joing our ranks I chose the non...

      RCBS Pro 2000

Anyone running one? I am interested in learning more about it, especially the manual indexing version. Any quirks? I think this is the only progressive I've never seen in person.
