It's practical, sure, and a decent investment - but if you are open to the idea, it's not a bad investment to buy the 17 either. Just depends on how much money you want to spend..
All of these will split and have the same display on each TV, right? You're not looking for a master console with different stuff on each display, are you?
I carry a Strion HL all the time - I've saved enough with rechargability to pay for the light over and over again in battery cost alone. I keep a FourSevens Preon P1 (old style apparently, looking at their website) in my pocket as a backup.
I've got a stock that needs the other parts - I'm hoping to do a build for my dad for Christmas and have everything else. I need it by the 23rd to get it done in time. There's a shop near his house that has the full kit, but I'd rather save a little cash and help out a fellow INGO friend while...
I'm a Streamlight Strion kinda guy.. I have some Surefire goodness too, but when I'm gonna be beating on them for work and stuff, I like my Streamlight. My dad just bought a Fenix rechargable USB light and it seemed pretty good too, and it might be cheaper (and obviously easier to charge) so...
Not officially, but unless they've changed things they start off-season practice over Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan areas - nothing formal, but still cool to see. Then they're off to El Centro California in January (again, it's been a year or 3, so things may have changed)
My dad came into a few hundred rounds of it when they opened a new shop near him (Central Ohio) and it looks interesting.. there was a really cool writeup in July's Guns & Ammo as well..
If heading to Gulf Shores Metro isn't too far, you can get a tour of the USS Alabama.. we did that and the Naval Museum when my brother was stationed at NAS Pensacola and had fun with both. You may check around and see if you can get a beach-level seat for the Blue Angels practice runs as well..
I *think* what you're calling a paddle holster is actually a hybrid leather/kydex holster.. and there's a few of them on eBay for Jimenez. You're not going to find a lot of Jimenez holsters out there like you would with the more common defensive handguns (Glock, for instance..)
