      Opportunities in Northeast Indiana

Thanks, folks!! Just what I hoping to hear! Good stuff in the NE corner.

What are your going to in 2018 to be a better shooter and Gun Handler?

Gotta be a combo for me:. LOTS more dry firing, and range time that is more than standing there poking holes in stationary targets. Also, I'd like to find some classes to sharpen up the defensive shooting skills. I live way up in the NE corner and am struggling to find something more than...

      Opportunities in Northeast Indiana

Anyone have info on handgun training opportunities in NE Indiana? Or maybe places that offer training? I could use something to fine tune the skills and the wife could use a basic handgun ladies course.

      Those Millennials, forever falling short

I think we called them "Duck and Cover" drills. "When you see the flash..." Elementary school - Yep, remember those. Odd thing was we lived in a part of NE Indiana where the closest thing worth nuking was some 40 miles away. Back in the day, that didn't make much difference.

      Good day of Prepping....The Garden!!

I've gotten my seeds ordered, but haven't actually gotten into the garden yet. Most of it is still pretty wet. We have some 23 (I think) raised beds and two open garden plots, plus raspberries and a some field stone terraces next to the house that will get herbs and strawberries this year. We...

Just have to brag a bit.

No yet, but I have been thinking about it. I've got a good friend who does those as often as he can, and he has me sold. I'm sure the daughter would love it. She's sort dating of a former Marine (like her old man - Semper Fi!) and I bet he would like to come along. Might be a good way for me...

      How many rounds?

I go once a month or so from late spring through fall. Brother who lives 2 minutes away has a range so no problems there. Don't get many rounds down range in the winter. Between all the calibers I probably burn 150 rounds each time out with .22 getting the biggest share.

Just have to brag a bit.

I spent one of the best days I've had in a long time today at the range with Daughter #2. She enjoys coming home to shoot occasionally but it's been a couple of years. Last week she called to tell me we needed a Daddy-Daughter shooting date. My brother has a range set up on his land, so we...

Terre Haute hotel has 13 registered sex offenders living there

I'm with you on this one. Work friend's kid got caught with his hand in his JUST under-aged girlfriends pants when he was JUST over aged. (Back before the updated law made some accommodation for close ages.) This at a party where her parents were supplying the booze. The lawyer he was finally...

Why are judicial proceedings not recorded?

I was up for jury duty this week. There were microphones video cameras around the court and the Judge indicated that folks would need to speak up to be heard on the recording. There was also a court recorder there. Not sure what was the "official" record. Got a confirmation of the old...

Indiana: Number 1 in meth lab seizures

Got a friend on the ISP who works meth labs exclusively. He is running his keister off trying to keep up with roadside labs now that the snow has melted. According to him most labs use an old 2 liter pop bottle as the pot. He also says they are barely able to hold up to the pressure that...

      Gold/Silver as currency & use

I'm of the opinion we're in for more of an extended slide to the new normal that's inevitably coming rather than a "crash" that comes over weeks or even months. I also believe we're seeing the early signs of that now, with our current government seemingly doing a lot to expedite the...

      Any "snap cap" users here?

A-Zooms for dry fire, malfunction, and reload drills. Not sure I NEED them in a P10 but still make it a habit. I also do the double, triple check thing and make sure there are NO live rounds anywhere near I'm training.

Reluctance to join a prepper group or MSG?

This is kinda where I'm at. A small group of family members and like-minded folks from our church. We all live within a handful of miles of each other out in the country, have big gardens, most of us have or are getting chickens, we share an interest in staying proficient in our shooting...

OK, what's his INGO user name...

Umm... McDonalds? Assuming we're talking AFTER the 'meal' here. There no better place to get a start on your 'prep' for that upcoming 'scope' appointment with the Doc. You all know we get what we pay for. Just sayin....

No, I'm sure he's COMPLETELY legit

      Concealed at work.

Nice. I work at a defense contractor with (mostly) US government contracts. Part of working for your friendly Uncle Sam is 'if you want the contracts NO firearms in the building'. Until a couple years ago when Indiana finally put an end to the practice it was 'no firearms on the premises' and...

      Para P14 mags in a P10?

Anyone have any experience with using Para P14 mags in a P10? I have the P10 and, at the urging (some time ago) of the dealer I bought the P10 from (new), finally bought a new P14 mag from Para for the added capacity. It fits the mag well, of course, and engages all the catches as one would...

      Personal grooming fails

Doggone it!! :n00b: I'm getting ready to go to bed and I was hoping to actually sleep! That stuff is creepy! And even worse is the apparent fact that those came about as a result of a free and seemingly rational choice. I can only hope to convince myself before I turn out the lights that...

      Had a kaboom last night

Clearly some leadership is required here. Some heavy lobbying by a beer safety advocacy group, maybe some congressional hearings, I can see it all now.... Someone in our fine political system (the best money can buy!) will form a 'Save Our Beer' [hereafter known as SOB) coalition and push...
