I agree that they can be a little rough around the edges, however, I have previously (6-8 months ago) found them to be negotiable on prices with a very decent selection of firearms and accessories...never purchased any ammo.
I also recently jumped on the XDs wagon...250 flawless rounds, including several brands of personal defense hollow points...zero issues of any kind. It took about a month for Springfield to ship me the 7 round magazines...zero problems with any of those too! I think they "nailed" the sights...
Just put 60 flawless FMJ rounds through mine, zero problems. You do need to rack the slide with authority to load the first round. A little snappy, however, the recoil was very manageable for a mini .45. I was wearing tactical gloves (it was a cold morning) and had no grip issues...not sure...
