Cooper believed that at 2200 fps, hydrostatic shock > caliber/momentum.

My feeble Procyon brain is still trying to figure out where he was planning to get these 45gr 9mm bullets to hand load into his obscure cartridge.

WW2 Sten gun semi auto conversion...

Sten MK5 is really a quite nice weapon. Very unique as well.

      Why do you shoot?

Self preservation. Nobody has the right to harm me or my family. I have a kit to provide a future for. You wont see me or my mate end up as some goobers novelty head covering.

      How to go about this

I have an unfortunate amount of experience in dealing with inheritance issues when elders pass on. We racoons tend to have large litters and often get hit by cars. If something is that important to you, then you need to go strait to your grandfather when he is in his right mind and just be...

      GM joins the gougers

They had about ten thousand boxes of crazy fudd rifle ammo, like 270 WSM and 6.5 creedmore, when i was in last week.

Take a blind guy to the range?

Ran into a blind man that carried TWO pistols - a primary and a backup. Claimed he could point shoot at the noise.

"What Kind of fool are you?"

Because that is the same as a gun shop not not supporting your rights. You do realize you can call the police from OUTSIDE the building right? Ive also never seen a sign posted outside any attourney. We are talking about a GUN shop, that sells weapons for carry and probably allows their...

"What Kind of fool are you?"

Shop somewhere else. Its their right to administer their property the way they choose ... but if it were me, i would not partronise a buisness that did not respect or support my rights. I dont personally care how friendly they may be, or what awards they have - if they wont let you carry then...

Has anyone seen a LC380 in stock at their LGS?

Caliber bravado has no place in a serious forum. Real life fact: Not everyone wants or needs a 9mm+ pistol. The LC380 fills a real niche in that it is a lower recoil, higher capacity, easier to get a hold of alternative to the LCP and other pocket pistols that is still quite small overall...

      Surplus clothing?

Online. Places like sportsmans guide, and keep shooting.com will have more selection, better prices, and better service than any real world surplus store ive ever been in (which tend to be operated by surly bearded guys that think their worn out alice pack is worth its weight in gold, display...

      STI GP6 OMG! Awesome!!

My GP6 gave me some grief today for the first time ever. Still very accurate and smooth shooting. Mags started dropping free during fire, even after a solid slap. They audibly 'clicked' into place, and I could not pull them free. They felt very solid, but after about 10 round they would drop...

      Watchmen of Indiana

Just saw this organization, and who i assume to be the OP (or his current equivelant - these groups change leadership / splinter so frequently) on the new episode of "Militia Rising" tonight. Im not inherently opposed to this kind of group ... but what i saw didnt impress me. Im not a bad-ass...

How do you know when you're AR is good to go?

When you get off your duff and shoot it in the field, in the dirt, for a few hundred rounds without a failure. Then you can be reasonably confident. If you never get off the square range you will never really be certain. People hate on DPMS - but mine has been covered in testing sand, hunted...

      .40's SUCK

He is full of it; another self-made, self-important "expert". 40 S&W is LESS THAN 1,000 PSI more than 9mm for maximum chamber pressure. I wonder if he still uses 45-70 trap door in his fighting rifles.

      Mosins.....

I'll second the motion to clean well. REALLY well - don't forget about the recesses for the bolts' locking lugs - they are usually full of crud, and are the primary culprit for the Mossin "stick bolt" syndrome. There is also some work you can do on the bolt internals. Search YouTube.

      Would you shoot Sasquatch?

Since Sasquatch is obviously just a guy in a monkey/gillie suit, shooting him would result in an involuntary manslaughter charge at best.

      .450 Bushmaster or .458 Socom

It's trendy to talk about hogs like they are mythical demonic beasts of supernatural abilities, but in reality a standard .223 is plenty for all but the biggest of hogs. A 375 / 416 / 458 anything is just not needed. The only purpose you mentioned that would require a bigger niche' cartridge...

Ruger Single Six in 17 HMR

The 17 needs a longer barrel than the Ruger provides in order to achieve its trademark velocity, but for $175 you just can't go wrong. If you don't like it, flip in on Gun Broker.

Wolves in Indiana, Marion county Indianapolis?

We have them here, south of LaPorte- they are definitely over 30 lbs, and appear to be WELL fed. They are about the size of a pincher, but with long bushy tales, and tall triangular ears. While solitary most of the time, they DO pack up when they need help with something big. Sometimes It...
