Yep, Arisaka rifle, plum shaped bolt handle, chrysanthemum markings and all.
Not uncommon or rare from what I understand, but I was curious to know if ammo could still be procured for such a weapon in this day and age, and if it would be worth shooting.
Anyone out there have any information?:)
Local dealer has a Zastava M88 pistol on the shelf for about $230--this is in 9mm Para, and I was really impressed with how compact it was. Did a bit of searching and found that its' action was a clone of the Tokarev TT-33.
Does anyone out there have any personal knowledge of this weapon...
...that I finally got my keister in gear and joined the NRA. Local gun show had a table for folks to sign up at a discount, and I thought, "What a great idea!" So, came back the next day and paid the fee, and should be getting something in the mail shortly.
"If we do not all hang together, we...
Saw one of these take-down rifles at a gun show here in Lafayette on Sunday, and as soon as I got a good look at at I thought to myself, "Too bad someone can't make a Mauser-style pistol grip and a short barrel for this...it'd make a great plinking pistol!"
So, does anyone know if somebody...
Saw a very nice Bersa Thunder .45 at a local shop today...now, I know that the .380 is highly regarded, but does anyone have knowledge of the Thunder .45? I'm REALLY considering this pistol if I can't find a 1911 style .45 anyplace.
Thanks! :yesway::popcorn:
I honestly thought things would have settled down by now...had a clerk at a local retailer tell me a few days ago that managers are trying to place orders, but since the supply is so tight on certain calibers now they're just getting kicked out of the system.
Even as common a cartridge as...
Loved reading the posts and watching the videos of the last event held, and I'd dearly love to attend the next one. Anyone have one in the works? Because if so, I'd be more than happy to come out and reload magazines for folks on that day!
Thanks!
Bought slacker's Hi-point C9 from him--he drove me to a range close by and let me shoot a couple of mags through it so I could see how it operated and how it behaved. Then, he allows me to shoot his Glock as well so I could see the difference between the two. Very friendly and a no-hassle...
Mom has in her closet an old 'J.C. Higgins' marked (sold through Sears Roebuck) .22 single shot bolt action rifle that's just gathering dust and cobwebs. It'd be a terrific recreational rifle with a proper cleanup!
But...since she doesn't keep it for self-protection (she lives out in a...
Namely, how durable are they? And, if so desired, can you get a .22LR conversion kit for one? (I really liked my brother-in-law's Kimber that was set up that way..)
PS: In the same shop, I saw a used Para Ordnance compact .45 on the shelf...anyone have experience with one of these?
Heading off to the Lafayette PD to get the paperwork for a LTCH filled out. Friend of mine said I had to first go to the local PD, fill out the forms, then be told I had to head off to the sheriff's department to finish the process. Is this true?
Looking about for a good pistol complement to my Marlin .22 rifle...I see the Ruger comes highly recommended, but would like to know about others that the people here might own, and thus recommend. What about these Walthers I've seen so much of? Or, the Smith and Wesson or Berettas I've seen...
Someone has offered me a nice 9mm pistol, and I'm seriously considering buying it...question is, when I travel there from my home, make the buy and return home, will I need any sort of permit just to bring it back home? I seem to remember there being some sort of law regarding transporting a...
A wee bit heartbreaking seeing EXACTLY the items you've been desiring, but no money to spend!
To wit: Polish Makarov, CZ-52, a Rock Island 1911, Garand from May '45, Taurus .357 revolver....all calling out 'Take me home with you, please!!'.....guess I have to make sure I bring money with me...
Spotted a pistol today that looked like a 1911 style .45, but it had the marking '.38 Super' on the side.
I'm not familiar with this cartridge...anyone have info?:dunno:
So, as well as a .357 revolver, I'm considering purchasing a .45 pistol sometime. Local shop has a Llama .45 for sale, but I'd like to know from someone who has the knowledge whether or not these are worth the buy, as far as durability, accuracy and such.
Anyone out there know?:runaway:
