Hello everyone, I haven't been on for a couple of years now, so please forgive me for being gone for so long!!! I am looking at getting back to reloading again, and I want to start with a 45ACP GI Hardball duplication load. I am going to be using 230 grFMJ and I would like to use Titegroup...
I just wanted to take a moment to thank the members of the MSCC. Over a month ago, like a bonehead I left a powerdrill on one of the shooting benches when I left. The drill was found by another member and was turned in to one of the board members, Roger. When I emailed MSCC, not only did...
I have a bucket of wheel weights that I want to melt into ingots. I used a new Lyman Mag 20 pot to melt another bucket I had, but it took almost 8 hours to melt the other bucket. I want this pot to last me a while and I don't really care for the idea of running it for 8 hours straight to smelt...
Does anyone have a recipe to duplicate the Gold Dot loading in 40 S&W? I have placed an order for a couple hundred Gold Dot bullets and I want to try to duplicate that load since that is what I have decided to carry. You know, practice with what you carry. Thanks for any suggestions!!
Hey folks, I'm looking for some suggestions here. I have a Colt Combat Commander that I would like to have some work done on. I'm thinking about a reliability package, new sights, a trigger job, and perhaps getting it refinished as well. I was told that Clark's Custom Guns does a fantastic...
Went down to the range this evening and seen where they had been doing some logging there. Does anyone know, are they planning on adding another range or are they just selling off some lumber? I went walking back in there and it goes back quite a ways and also up the hill side. Also, does...
Looking for some ideas about how to make a target stand that is sturdy, easy to assemble at the range, and will fit into a trunk of a car. I am thinking of something that is going to be mostly used for handguns. I don't have a pick-up so I can't assemble at home that is sturdy and easy to set...
Looking for some advice......I have narrowed my choice of a new pistol to the M&P Compact. My question is which do you prefer and why, the .40 or the .45 version of each. I have heard that the recoil is "snappier" with the .40 more so than the .45. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks, Mike
I went to the range yesterday, to test some loads that I loaded into water filled milk jugs. First a .22 Stinger (ok, so I didn't load that one) stopped in the 2nd jug, a 125gr .357 JSP stopped in the 4th jug, 230gr .45 XTP stopped in the 4th jug. For giggles, I fired a light target load 148gr...
Hey guys looking for some advise and recommendations. I am looking for a clean burning powder to reload with. I shot some factory 9mm & 45 ACP today for the first time in quite awhile since I reload most all of my ammo. I noticed that the empty brass was so much cleaner and my pistols also...
I read that Gander Mountain has a scoped combo Remington 700 ADL advertised for $449.99. My question is, do you think that this is a good price for the rifle and scope? I understand that this is an entry level 700, so would I be better off trying to find a good used 700 instead? I was looking...
I may have missed something, but I thought that I seen that there was going to be some steel targets installed. I have been down about 10 times this year and I have never seen the targets. Did they never go up or did some bonehead destroy them and they were removed? Just wondering. I still...
I just purchased a Savage 110 in 30-06 at a auction on Saturday and really got to look and play with it today. I do have to say that is has what is probably the crappiest (if that is a word) trigger pull that I have every felt. Can anyone suggest something to do to help lighten the trigger pull...
I am wanting to get a scoped bolt-action rifle and I seen in the Gander Mountain ad a Savage 111 in 30-06 for $499. Does anyone have anything to say about this rifle, good, bad, or ugly?? Thanks, Mike
Went to Atterbury this morning, and just had a good time. Trying out a new barrel on my Commander and new grips on my Redhawk. I was only there for about an hour, but just a good relaxing start to my day. Buzz, it was good to see you again!! Mike
Does anyone have the e-mail address for the Martinsville Conservation Club? I want to see if I can sign up for next year now that Atterbury is only open 3 days a week now and their annual membership went up from last year.
I am usually not directionally challanged, but I can't find the shooting range in Crosley. I can find the park, but I cannot seem to find the range. Can anyone give me some easy to find directions??? Thanks. Mike
Does anyone know how long it takes to renew a C&R License? I sent in my renewal in March and I still have not recieved anything yet. My current license expires in June and although I don't really buy alot of items, I still don't want it to expire. Any ideas??
Has anyone heard of the Martinsville Conservation Club? Is it an open range or is it a members only club? I am looking for another place to shoot besides always running over to Atterbury. Thanks, Mike
