My Great Great Grandfather's Colt 1849 Pocket Model
This was my Great Great Grandfather’s Colt 1849 Pocket Model. He trekked from Indiana to California in 1849 for the Gold Rush where made his fortune selling and delivering supplies to miners. The mfg. date on the plaque is incorrect. Family...
I assume it's the same as the other officers in the video. In this screenshot you can see the rotating hood retention system. It's definitely not an ALS as others have suggested. This is a Safariland holster, but it's from their SLS line. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Model 6285...
We'll see if the new material holds up better than the 2.0. I've seen week old 2.0s torn to hell. I personally still think the original is the best one they make. The break-in period only took about a week for me.
Looks to me like you did what you should have. Put in that situation I would likely have done exactly the same, although I may not have drawn so soon unless I was carrying IWB while driving.
Depends on what you're shooting, but it could surely be done. With some tannerite, I bet you could knock that down pretty quick. Otherwise, you're going to need something pretty big and/or LOTS of ammo.
Such an unwelcome guest at my home would likely be greeted with my Glock, but there's not a chance I'd shoot him unless he escalated after being confronted. I see no reason to shoot if no lives are being threatened. If they entered my home, things might be different.
After carrying a G43 off and on the past few months, I can see it being great AIWB. However, I honestly don't think that I could carry my G19 AIWB comfortably, and I'm not willing to take the risk of buying one to try it out.
I've had mine for about a year now. It's broken in a little, but it's been fairly comfortable from the start. I'm a fairly thin guy (6', 165 lbs) and I can conceal fairly well under an untailored button-down. I recommend the real leather version. I've seen scuffed-up 2 week old 2.0 versions, but...
Saw an older guy carrying either a 1911 or revolver (didn't get a good look) in a leather shoulder holster in Walmart in Crawfoldsville last night. I've never seen a more smug look on someones face than that dude strutting around with his elbows high. He definitely wanted everyone to know he was...
Friday evening in Crawfordsville Walmart. Early 20's guy with full sized 1911 OWB under his shirt. It might as well have been OC. I noticed another person CCing at Turkey Run on trail 3. It looked like a Glock 19/23 IWB. I only noticed it because he had to squat down to help one of his children.
Regardless of whether or not you believe it was totally justified, I think how he acted during the news interview was the perfect example of what not to do.
Edit: wrong thread. Was referring to this incident: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H7EME2Hhwc
Gen 4 G19 with TFOs and rubber Talon Grips in an Alien Gear iwb holster. As a thinner guy, printing becomes an issue in t-shirts. However, I typically wear button downs so it's not a big problem.
What ranges do you guys and gals recommend in the Lafayette area? I've been to Applied Ballistics in the past and enjoyed shooting there, but I was wondering what other options are out there. I assume Applied Ballistics is the only indoor range in the area, and I'm certainly open to outdoor...
