      need help...45 acp or .357

I bought mine years ago for $675 and I load my own ammo so todays money don't seem that bad. Just thought it was an option for him to scratch both itches at once

You could always look at a Coonan. It's a .357 mag. on a 1911 platform

I stopped by Gun Town by Grovertown and saw they have some clean looking pistol brass in their reload counter. looked like .380 to .45acp.

      FCD

Thanks chem, I had heard that about 9mm cases just never investigated. Since .38 & .44 are rimmed cases and can't be pushed completely thru the die, the bulge buster has no advantage over the standard die for sizing.

      FCD

I recently discovered the Lee "Bulge Buster" that uses the Factory Crimp Die as a push thru resizing die. I've never had any feed problems using the standard taper crimp die that came in the set, but always noticed an unsightly bulge at the bottom of the case where the resizing die can't reach...

      Tannerite Alternatives?

I was at a shoot not long ago that used open coffee cans of gasoline. Fill the can half or two thirds full of gas, toss in a match, the top (fumes) is what burns. Then go back to the firing line and shoot the can. Gasoline sprays all over and the ignition is already there.

      45LC Blank Brass

Thanks for the information. The Firing Line link was very helpful. I'll check a few but I'm almost positive they will measure too large. Maybe I'll find another mounted shooting club to donate them to.

      45LC Blank Brass

I recently inherited about 800 pcs. of 45LC brass with the headstamp "Top Brass Blank". These were used with black powder to shoot balloons in a mounted shooting club I was involved with. Since the club has folded and my shooting horse is getting too old to ride that hard I am considering...

How long do you look for your brass?

I got tired of spending 50% of my shooting time to find 40% of my brass, so I built an indoor range in my barn. (see page 38 of "reload room pics" in this topic).

Survey: Who sorts their brass by brand prior to reloading?

I do. I learned in archery that when you shoot the same load (arrow wgt), the same way (knock point, anchor point, etc) every time then the results will be more accurate. I apply that to my reloading. I try to load like headstamps in box lots (50) so each trip to the range I will be shooting the...

      Herter's Select

Herters is an old name in reloading and ammo. They may outsource all there products now but one of the best reloading books I've read was put out by Herters 30 years ago.
