Mostly an iron sight type of guy, but considering a red dot on my G-19. Question is, when shooting, do you need to do holdover, or can the sight be adjusted to point of aim/point of impact? Thanks...
Would like to get rid of the finger grooves on my 19. Anybody in the Columbus area that is good at removing them? It's my main carry piece, and don't feel comfortable taking a Dremel tool to them myself.
Had a set on my G-19. Easy to see, but just could not get used to the sight picture. Took them off and went to a set of Ameri Glo Hackathorns, orange front, black rear, and love them!!
Overall, a good gun that serves it's purpose. It's a deep conceal pistol that is better than having a sharp stick. But, in my opinion, absolutely a pain to shoot. Qualified with it several times as one of my LEOSA carry guns. I must say that I put over 400 rounds through it with absolutely...
I got the Uncle Mike's 1911 double mag pouch, made of kydex, for my wife's Shield. It has screws to adjust the tension, and available with belt loops, or paddle, from MidwayUSA.
Also have a M92 in .357 and it is a sweet shooter. Functions well as long as you remember to not baby working the action. Also bought the Steve's Gunz video. Haven't tore the rifle down completely yet, but I found the section on proper cleaning and lubing helpful. Lube in the right spots...
Been retired for 6 years, but keep in contact with current LEO at my present job, hospital security. I recently asked several of them about this issue, or if they prefer someone tell them if they are carrying when stopped. According to each of them, if you are licensed to carry in Indiana...
Saw a Facebook posting last night that SB229, allowing weapons being on school property in locked vehicles, had passed. The posting was by a 3rd party, but was one by Rep Jim Lucas, the author. Was not mentioned at all last night in the network news, or today for that matter. Anyone know if...
Feel the same way!! Love my 9c, but wish it just a tad longer in the grip. Trigger on mine was great from the factory. Had G19's and 26's for several years. Liked them, but fell in love with the M&P's when I finally picked one up.
A few years before I retired from my local Sheriff's Office, we were issued AR-15's. I had the fortune to be issued a Vietnam era M-16, full-auto, good shape, and very sweet!! After I retired, I bought an AR built by one of my buddies. Bought all the cool stuff for it, and bought ammo from...
I am wanting to put a sling on my Rossi .357 16in lever rifle. Looking for suggestions as to what brand/kind of swivel set to get. Have checked on-line, but I have no idea as to the size of the magazine tube. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Pocket carry an M&P340 about 95% of the time. Had several j-frames during my early LEO career, but got swayed when we transitioned to semi-autos. Fell in love again after I retired. Qualify LEOSA/retired with it yearly, along with my M&P9c. Mostly concentrate on close-in to 15 yards when...
I knew Smith was going to "upgrade" the triggers on new guns being produced, but this is the first I've heard of a possible upgrade kit. Have a box-stock 9c also, and love it. Even the trigger works for me. Traded a G19 for the 9c, but don't tell anybody, because it's sacrilege to do so!!
My M&P9c had a good trigger from the beginning, and it was built in May 2012. My duty gun was a Sig 226 with SA/DA trigger, and I carried a Glock 26 off-duty, so having different feeling triggers really didn't bother me. Enjoy your Smith and shoot often!
silentvoice71: you might check out an excellent article in the Sep/Oct 213 issue of American Handgunner. It's an article on Defensive Carry..Is it Caliber or Equipment. Breaks down all the major and minor calibers used, and effectiveness. Boils down to the fact that a 9mm is as good as a .40...
