      Great news for Lafayette

$8.99 is a great deal on .30 carbine. When the Sportsman's Warhouse was there I was buying .30 carbine at $16.99 (box of 50). Someone messed up along the way. We, brother and me, gave them a chance to correct the mistake. Even going as far as telling them that it's a very low price. I think...

      Great news for Lafayette

I was in there Wednesday for the soft opening. Huge gun selection, but over priced. I however knew that before going in. I was not impressed with the quality of the help behind the counter. Wanted to see a birdshead Ruger Vaquero, the clerk was trying to swing open the cylinder! Also...

I'm seroiusly thinking about a .450 Bushmaster. My problem right know I can't seem to find a complete upper for sale, new. I was looking at getting on middle of July, but didn't find any to be had.

      The "Ideal Reloading Room"

My ideal reloading room would be a dedicated room used just for reloading. There would be tables/workbenches on all four walls. Wall one would be brass prep and have trimmers and the like. There would be a shop vac under that bench to clean up trimmings or hook right into a trimmer like the one...

Where to buy Powder and Components

There are two places in Cass County I'd look at. First is Down by the Tracks in Galveston right at SR 18 and the rail road tracks. Second is Downham & Son in Logansport by the John Deere dealership.

      Police shoot man near Purdue

He was driving down the street ignoring stop signs as he went and in doing so almost cause a crash. Wasn't his first run in with the law. Suspect is a former Lafayette firefighter that was let go for conduct unbecoming (two counts of arson) back in 2009. Officers said that upon investigation...

      Pocket Chainsaws & Wire Saws

I keep a SAS Commando Saw in my survival kit. SAS COMMANDO SAW - Brigade Quartermasters It's the best wire saw I've found. The key to using a wire saw is to make them into a bow saw. This is done by using a green limb and notching the ends to hold the blade. I like the Commando saw becasue...

      Why hate stackon gun safes?

Stack-On | Products | 28-Gun Safe with Combination Lock Stack-On's Total Defense 28 gun safe is what I have. It's fire rated for 30 minutes up to 1400° F and water resistance in up to 2 feet of standing water for 72 hours. It weighs in at 493 lbs. The only bad thing I have to say about it...

small first aid kid for the truck - suggestions welcome

I'd ditch the ice pack and add a 3" elastic bandage. You don't have room for a 4 1/2" bandage roll or I say to add one (or two). A military banadge would fit. Any extra space I'd load up on 4"x4" or 3"x3" gauze pads and bandage rolls.

      The Walking Dead

The greande he had is of little use. If you look close the spoon was blue meaning it was a training grenade. Further the bottom of the spoon was painted brown meaning it was used and is now inert. Nothing more than you could by at a surplus store. A little paint on behalf of the production...

      Whose met their co?

I've met most of the COs that work District 3. I have yet to meet the new officer that is working my county, but know the others by name. Working ICOO Youth Camp I also know a few COs from other Districts as well.
